Problem is my stupid router wont allow me to open the ports for the ip I have declared a DMZ. Its either DMZ or open ports , not both. SO I cannot open gamespy ports and have a DMZ for the same machine in my network.

Disconnecting & Changing Router isngt gonna be ever helpfull eitehr because its a combined router & dsl modem. Oh bummer, I am screwed.

I think I am gonna axe this piece of crap.

:sigh:

PostForum: Tech Support   Posted: Mon Nov 01, 2004 3:28 pm   Subject: bloody router
Ok, I got a somewhat different problem. Since I made a firmware update of my router I am unable to open port ranges like 2300-2400. Called in tech support , got a new route but alas again with that bloody buggy firmware again. Old firmware is nowhere to be got. ´So I decided to make my labtop a DMZ, in other words disconnect it from the hardware firewall. Now I am able to join games via gamespy just fine. But not host them. Why is that ? shouldnt the DMZ put away with any port problems ? I also gave allowance to cc5 in the Windows (sp2) firewall. Also tried hosting with deactivated Windows firewall. still people get only as far as a blackscreen when I host.

any help ?`

Cheers.

sp2 lagged my game bigtime OFFLINE in single player and LAN. I had to put on win99 compability mode for the cc5 exe. Maybe people are experiencing heavy video lag and blame it on the connection.

Cheers
