Hi guys, been playing all the new CC's lately but nothing seems to work like the CC2 campaign does, so im looking to start up a grand campaign with anyone who is interested.

Have gameranger and 3.2 - 2.0 installed.
Settings would be Germans - Normal  Allies - Strong
I dont mind either side.

Wow!

Half the old gang, Homba, morca, Oce, good to see yas, not sure what made me wander in here but im glad i did, great to hear from you guys! We gotta hook up on something, Homba, try talisman, kinda your style. Morcs, the games of Alpha Centari we played live on in my memories along with many of our CC2 games, 2 tiger tanks included, i need to buy that game again, i heard beyond earth was crap. Oce, your right bro, nothing compares to CC2, i have ARMA also, and CoH (huge disaster) but thr closest thing ive seen to CC2 is a cheapo game called "Men at war" fabulous for LAN games, one set amount of points to build your army instead of factory spawns in CoH, anyways try it, its cheap as on steam i think.

Ill keep in touch lads, take care!

Hi guys, Its been a few years now but im pretty much back online now and Looking to do some serious wargaming. I would be starting up a campaign in close combat 2 usually, but ive lost my disk, plus i know how much of a nightmare it is to run on newer computers. As far as the new series goes, wacht em rein and cross of iron etc, i havent seen any of them in stores here, and i shop at the gamestores almost weekly. I know some will say its this price on amazon or that price at ebay, i wont bother chasing it, caus i know ill be dissapointed. So, with that said, im interested in any suggestions you guys have to similar wargames that are easily accesable.

I just purchased 3 games, Panzercorps - a remake of panzer general, Iron Front liberation 1944, and Stronghold. But as usuall they arent what i was looking for, ill throw them on the pile of 30+ unused wargames in my cupboard. Im looking for something with an in depth campaign that can be played online, with the results of one encounter progressed to the next, like the campaigns in close combat. Does anyone have any suggestions? What is everyone playing now?

While i wait for a decent wargame to show up, i have been hanging out and playing at the following places:

http://www.fightingflattops.com/  a navy game, free to play online. A must look for any armchair admirals out there.

XCOM enemy unknown.  Turn based squad combat. Online skirmishes.

ARMA 2, dayz mod. Zombie apocalypse survival, FPS

Anyone else playing these games? If so friend me.

Anyway ill try anything tactical or warfare related, tell me where yous are all hanging out and ill come join ya.
Take it easy lads!

Sad seeing this happen, but i agree with mooxe on this one. I think all of us have been hoping and wishing that the CC series would become what it should have been, but the years of waiting for it all to come together have produced nothing but dissapointments. In my opinion, the games are getting worse, we are going backwards.
Im not incredibly informed about it, and i only sceeted through the comments here, but i heard something about matrix games, and i shuddered, imo they are one of the WORST providers of wargames, and anything from them i steer clear of like a plague. Reasons? they seem to make you put hours and hours into micromanaging armies, only to have it all funneled down to a very basic and outdated combat system, making the hours for nothing. If the rumours are true, then shoot CC in the head before his infection spreads, end it on a good note.

It felt horrible when our CC2 page was closed, all those battles gone, tournaments and all. Like burning a large photo album, memories that cant be replaced, but thats life. Anyway nothing lasts forever, was good fun while it lasted.

Mooxe ill support any decision you make, though, id hate to think that i couldnt come here, or some place like it to chat and read stories, its like the pub for me, place to chill, but its up to you. Also, id like to personally thank you for all the support you gave me and the rest of the lads, memories of you appearing out of nowhere fast to solve a problem only to dissapear again made me think of you like a caped cyber crusader flying around helping people, i have a very warm spot for you mate, and hope everything is ok for you in life. Your a top bloke, thanks again for everything.

Hi all,

I just returned from a gruelling stint in a P.O.W camp, only to find my old stomping ground is gone, has it been shelled into non existance? where has all my brothers in arms gone now, how can i communicate without a proper radio frequency? Is the THouse tent really been packed up for good?

I have enlisted into the ranks of "Men of War" now, its very similar to "Company of Heroes" but with a "diablo" type inventory for all the soldiers. It sounded a bit too much to handle at first, but it really isnt that complicated, you just have power over what they scavenge of enemy soldiers, finding a repair kit and fixing a german panther for allied use is a great tool. and finding it satisfying in every way, anyone else hanging out here?
