I was in the middle of re-classing to a new MOS at Redstone Arsenal, AL and was in Mircowaves class when we received the news. The only thing I can remember is thinking the the coming decade is not going to be pretty. We had 2 Tech officers from the middle-east who where taking classes with us. On the 11th, they were there, on the 12th, they were gone. Kind of a shame, they were decent guys, for officers.

The Torrents are out there alright. I used a torrent to DL a free game that was around 700MB. 44 hours later, (on Cable internet), I finally finished. My advice? Save yourself the headache and just buy CC Modern Tactics.

Well, it works after some tweaking and I'm getting my butt kicked on the 1st Scenario. It's been over 5 years since I had to this stuff in real life. But I like a challenge. Smile

I'm a 10 year US Army vet myself and have had to deal with the occasional over-opinionated civilian when I wore the uniform. When I was young, I'd get pissed when people would protest or just plain bad-mouth my brother and sister Soldiers, and cousin Marine, Sailors, Airmen, and Coast-Guardsmen.

Now I'm older and a little wiser and can honestly say the my decade of service did me good. I'm still saddened when folks bad-mouth my extended family, but it's more an annoyance that most folks do so from ignorance than any other reason.

I'm a firm believer that folks are entitled to their opinions, I just wish that more folks would look at all facts before forming one.

Matrix Games isn't EA, (thankfully), and publish games for a very niche audience. As a result, it's in their and their studio's best interest to publish the game with as much quality as they can. They literally can't afford bad press or reviews. With that in mind, and the fact that I have yet to see Matrix publish a complete lemon of a game( basically, no amount of patching will help), I have high hopes for the remakes and any new games of the series.

I'm looking it over now. I still chuckle at how much the DoD is using video games for training to good effect.

The only other CC game I've played regularly is ABTF. I look forward to see what tweaks have been made to the game. I'm pretty sure I'll buy CCMT and CoI soon enough as I get the cash, but this'll tide me over.

Does anyone know of any publicly-released updates, patches, mods and the like for CCM?

thanks

Am I correct in looking at CC Modern Tactics as kind of a 2nd try at making a Commercial release of CC Marines?

As a returning player to the series, I'm rather curious as to what the new games have to offer as well. I used to have ABTF and RF back in the day, but I never really got into them. Now I discovered that Matrix is keeping the series alive and well and added some more games to boot. I found an old copy of ABTF and loaded it up to re-acquaint myself with the series. Modern Combat is holding my interest the most, but I'm still looking at the WWII Games as well. I haven't bought any of the new games yet.

Other than what's already mentioned, what has changed?
