Von_Gruber, sounds like you upgraded an in progress campaign or operation and that is not recommended....

No, they were both new campaigns.
The 3rd campaign on gameranger was hosted by the other player....same result though.

After the crashes I uninstalled the game then reinstalled and added the official update plus the first beta patch.
The pervious crashed campaign was still there upon reinstallation and is now playable

The game has crashed for me with this patch.
When playing against the AI as both sides and against an opponant on game ranger.
Was going smoothly for 20+ battles then when trying to start the next battle....crash with a message saying problem with the CC.EXE file.
Reverted to the previous patch only....no problems so far and the campaign against the AI that had previously crashed is now playable

Not that I know anything being a bit of a rookie myself but......
When I've started a game in gameranger, LSA ....the game on my computer that is.....is not open.
Gameranger opens it and makes the multiplayer connection.
Perhaps you already have the game open?

....on gameranger.
Some seem to have pirated versions
some players dont have all the patches
etc etc etc

Anyhow...if anybody has a version w/serial number and with all the patches  up to and including v50.60.5b AND would like to play a campaign or operation against a reasonable human such as myself.....well, please respond.

ok.....figured out most of the above now.
What is the usual game setting and scroll speed for online play?
does it matter if the host and the joining player have different settings?

Thanks.
Downloaded the gameranger stuff.
Nobody seems to be hosting LSA there though.
Is it a small community of players at the moment?

PostForum: Close Combat Last Stand Arnhem   Posted: Thu Dec 16, 2010 6:07 pm   Subject: Hello All
Just purchased CC Last Stand Arnhem.
Haven't payed this game since I was addicted to the first version, A Bridge too Far, a few years back.
Anyhow....looking for a regular opponant to play online.
Where do you play?
and is anyone interested?

I brought the online version and just got the patch posted on here.
No expert but I really enjoy this game.

Mostly free evenings and weekends.....Eastern US timezone.

If you're the type of General that likes to moan about aspects and detail flaws of the game ......don't bother me!
