Hi Dima,
Many thanks for this reply. I take my hat off to your deep knowledge, although your answer leads to some new questions:
After capturing the maps which house the factories that you mentioned, will supply for the Soviet side dry up ?
Do you have an idea, for how long industrial production of arms and ammunition was maintained in Stalingrad ? Or was all production relocated to other factories well prior to the Wehrmachts arrival ?
Again many thanks

Forum: CC5 Stalingrad Posted: Tue Nov 15, 2005 4:30 pm Subject: Unit guide |
When I encountered a T-34 opr. 42 (e) at Stalingradskii airfield, I felt a little bit lost whether this (e) is good or bad news, i.e whether I should treat this T 34 with more caution or whether I could ignore it.
Apparently this mod is so detailed as to include some T-34s that have no proper optics, thus limiting their effectiveness at ranges > 150 m.
Is there a unit guide that explains the amazing plethora of units and their optimal use on both sides ?
Many thanks

Forum: CC5 Stalingrad Posted: Tue Nov 15, 2005 4:12 pm Subject: Further Ideas - fuel and ammo status |
Actually, I was quite surprised when I encountered enemy units that had apparantly no ammo and no fuel. It appeared that these units were full of spunk and exhibited few limitations to their mobility.
I would guess that most veteran soldiers managed to massage their ordonance and fuel figures to some degree, in order to have at least a small "iron-ration" especially in situations where logistics weren't particularly reliable.
Is this the thinking of the developers of the Stalingrad mod or will this issue be ironed out in a future update ?
Many thanks

Hi Silvio,
I am having the same experience: my Pioneers seem to take forever until they are ready to use the flame-thrower. In the meantime, the enemy tanks can kill them one-by-one at leisure.
I agree with tomekj5 that other factors can easily be the reason why the flamethrowers are so slow. A combination with a Panzerbüchse however, is quite lethal for any tank in the vicinity.
Still, it is a sensational mod and I am still exhausted from finishing my first Grand Campaign.

Hi all,
While I am fairly experienced in using artillery support, I seem to gain precisely zilch from air support:
Which precision is to be assumed ? Should I put the marker right on top of my intended target, or should I factor in the same level of precision that characterises artillery ?
What are the differences in damage between the individual plane types ?
Many thanks for your insights

Hi SlithMan,
following your post I was quite worried before I encountered my first squadron on KV-1s.
However, in my experience, a whole PaK-front (Ideally two or three 88s or the PaK 36 (r)) plus one from an angle (the PaK 38 will do nicely) is enough to do the job properly - at least when playing the AI mod.
I figure that with sufficient CC III RealRed practice under your belt you will be able to prevail.
Hope this helps

Hi tankmanlefront,
I am not a computer whiz and had the same problem which made me feel like a complete moron - following the superb installation guide by the letter and still this error message would appear.
However, the solution is fairly simple: Your default directory into which CC5 is installed is c:\Programs yet the config file which will install the mod is looking into the c:\program files directory.
Just copy the whole SSI directory (after you have made the full installation including the 5.01 patch) into c:\program files and then this mod will work.
Hope this helps, this mod is just awesome

I would like to thank you for your spectacular effort, the amount of work you put in is astounding and as the result shows most definitely worth the wait.
I thought RealRed was the best CC mod so far, but right now I have to reconsider.
Keep up the great work
