Thanks for the mod.I noticed a couple of problems though. The mortar barrage does not work. and the air strike for the nationalists does not work.i know they aren't supposed to have any but I gave it to them anyway just for the heck of it.( made my own Camp for testing purposes)I hope it doesn't P.O. Firefox 'cause I changed it from the original without asking him. I also noticed that the 2 leftover BG's (both sides) will disappear from the strat map unless they are engaged.I had this prob with the CCV version of this mod too.I posted about this years ago when the mod 1st came out.Apparently no one has been able to figure this out. |

I just got vista to work with in ingame multiplayer , and I am also able to host on Gamespy.
I first must make the disclaimer that I am not a computer geek,just a frustrated cc player that couldn't get vista to work multiplayer.And if this doesn't work for you I probably wouldn't be much help.I just know that it worked for me.
The first thing i did was dl and install SP1 for vista. Then I went into my router and put Gamespy in the DMZ for my router.I left the firewall up. From what I read in my router documentation certain applications will only work this way. The next thing I did was go to my windows firewall and put BOTH Gamespy and CC5 in the list of exceptions.I then added the ports there that Gamespy wants open.
Ok the next thing i did was install Hamachi. I'm not sure if Hamachi has anything to do with it but in the bottom of the INGAME multiplayer screen,where it shows your ip address it shows my ip and separated by a semi_colon shows the Hamachi ip.
And finally I right clicked the cc5 shortcut opened up the compatibilty panel and selected xp sp2.
Then started the game went to the multipayer(for about the 50th time that day) and voila the entire mp screen was up.I commandeered my son to volllenteer to go on one of the other pc's in the house to check it out.With me as host and the game worked perfectly.
Then I went up Gamespy, found a vollonteer there to let me host and there also it went off without a hitch with me as host.
I dont know if this combo wiil work for everybody else who is having trouble playing cc5 with vista.,But maybe it could at least point you in the right direction.
p.s. I didn't run it as administrator either,I just assumed that this is the main comp and I am the administrato |

My first game was a stupid little game called sticks and stones.A board set in prehistoric times.the next was squad leader.(someone posted earlier they thought it came out in 78 or 79) It was actually 77.I still have have it.and of course all of the addon moduals for it like cresendo of doom and G.I. anvil of victory and ASL and all the addons for that.For those of you do not know the rulebook for ASL was a 3 ring binder.So as rules were ammeded that page could be taken out and the updated rule put in its Place.Ingenious really.At that same time i was also playing Great battles of the civil war by SPI who was bought out by TSR and they made 2 more games in the series My first game for the comp was a civil war game (Cant remember the name) on a 8086 processer.
Not to get off topic but I'm convinced that close combat is squad leader for the comp.I remember seeing an advertizement in "The General" magazine in the late 80's or early 90's for squad leader for the comp.It showed a screen shot of a Pz4 in defence mode.It had the exact blue cresent that cc uses to show defence. And remember reading something about that avalon hill and atomic were working on it together but there was some kind of falling out between the 2 companies and somehow atomic got the right to produce it.,And cc1 was the end result |

I take it by the lack of responses that no one has a solution for this.I read in another post somewhere that someone had the same problem for the 18th legion.Didn't see anything about a fix for that one either. |

I've been playing the Spanish civil war mod(single player).I played the campaign that came with the mod,and I noticed there were 2 armored bg's for the nationals that were not used in the campaign.I made my own campaign to include these 2 bg's.They show up when they are supposed to.But on the 1/2 turn they disappear from the strat map,then reappear on the next turn at a supply depot.This "bug" Happens every turn.the only time they don't disappear on the half turn is if you manage to get them engaged with an enemy bg.(i did this by retreating on the strat maps untill the ai was next to a supply depot)and then moved to that map.Then they won't disappear on the half turn untill the map is cleared.If it is cleared on the six o'clock turn they will disappear again on the 1/2 turn.and the cycle repeats.I've been playing ccv for a long time and have never seen this happen before.
If anybody has any ideas about how to fix this i'd really be grateful. |
