I got suspicion about my opponent upgrading his units with qclone, tanks and schecks seem to be exceptionally efficient and it keept happening too many times, exceeding the limit of tank luck. My opponent was hosting, now swpped sides but still want to chceck, whether sth was going wrong. I keep the old save file. Is it possible to veryfy it? I'm no qclone user, but if need it, i'll learn basics so as i could check

Got a question from a friend wishing to import cc5 data for req with one problem - his cc5 catalogue is not a defaulft one. Is there any way to set it in req or any other way to import data other from sending files of particular from ccreq data catalogue mod from me to him?

I noticed it happens when I got DDraw acceleration on. When its off, it does not happen. And as far as I'm concerned I'm one of few ppl CCStarter does not work for. Causes permanent errors running CC. Better to switch DD manually.

That would be true if you assume Germans would not attack from the very begining. But if they did, especialy commanded by a good player trying to push allies back to the sea at all cost? I'd say it is possible to sustain allies in the coast. If you gain back sword beach and the coast around it, not even taking gold and juno, alles are left little space to gather bgs. It's mainly the scale of fighting that allows allies win. If they are able to organize a front from top to down strat map it makes gerries use a lot of bgs to fight them and atritt. But if germans take even limited offensive steps and keep half of the coast, winning with allies would be tough.

As for German solutions - I believe it would be better to use Rommels strategy. Holding allies in the beaches can give the best victory. I know its hard to make it with bgs that are present in the beaches on 6 June, but holding the allied advance allows to pull better bgs, 21 with tanks and 352 with schecks. Then they can be replaced with 12ss grens.
Navals are not what Germans are to fear, its given say 2 navals/day, which means they get worn out in the morning round. And still allies wont stand ss teams in the beaches, even with navals.
I agree your ideas for German defence, they are totally right and wise. However I believe if you let allies land and stay on the ground, you lose in the end of the gc. Allies can progress slowly, but its enough. They got refs, german bgs just get worn out and there is nothing to do about it. Even panters and tigers drop out one by one and soon they're gone.
I've won 1 gc playing germans like I wrote, another bg almost won, the opponent gone, but have panters in gold, juno mostly mine, sword with 26 ss grens, no chance on that beach for allies.
On the other hand I am having a gc as allies. For them the key is to press hard day 1 and 2, most of the ground i gained was due to quickly moving forward, not clearing the beach with 1 wave bgs, but moving them inland and letting 2 wave bgs clear beaches. Then its damn tough, schecks, ats, panters and tigers and so on. But slowly you can make it. Damaging german tanks make them eliminated after the round, some u kill during the fight. I believe you can make it obtaining better positions on some maps, making germans retreat back and on. Also advancing is possible both over and under the channel, wchich makes gers strech their defence line. Certainly attacking panters is almost a suicide, but if they sustain loses, its worth even with disbands. Since the only minus of a disband is that u get your bg back in the beach, its not much. Its not true they lose some teams due to disband, so its not much wrong with it.

Ronson is right.
Gravyface, tell me, how did u kill those tigers? Sideshot, rearshot, front armour penetration? I may only assume they were killed with side- or backshots. Few human players would allow you to do such a slaughter without reaction. Even if u killed one tiger, one would not give u another and another one by one just to see them die. Probable gun site would be covered with mortar or infantry fire and then not one but 2 or even more tigers would come together to get rid of the gun. Thats h2h life, no easy work bud.

Anyone knows bout a screnshot taker that would take screens automatically?
I have been using uosu, however always forget to take screens and then end a battle with 1 or 2 screens. Prefer if the program took it for me, say every 20 seconds. Deleting unnecesary screens is possible, to have untaken screens obviously not Smile

Hm. Any particular map it happens on? And is there any particular place you direct your men to move? The only explanation for the moment being for me is that you order your men to go to a place there is no way to get to. Its like if you wanted them to go to the deep water section. However even then they should go to the shallow water and then refuse to go further.

The error may be in your assumption the mg fire rate is a factual one. Its known mg42 could fire some 1400-1500 rds/min, however its theory - how many round WOULD mg fire within a minute if it kept on firing for 60 seconds. You could not in fact keep on firing for a minute. Not only would ammo belts end (standard 250 rds belt would be gone in 10 seconds) and needed to be replaced, but a barrel would not make it. Mg barrels were designed to be quickly replaced (below 10 secs) for, as i remember over 150 shots, it would be too hot. I may be wrong about this last number, but this proves the fire rate was a theory, just that for all hand weapons its calculated shots/minute.

Which all brings us once again to an obvious fact - want a dificult game - play h2h. Otherwise no point in trying to obtain a challenging game.

Exactly Kevin, its unavoidable to keep looking at the map, spotting fire lines and estimate the sources of fire. Certainly putting smoke screens is necesary, suppresiing suspected positions of snipers. Too often there are not so many places to put a sniper, one should try think where a sniper could be. Course you wont exclude all the loses, often most inf dies on the first beach battle. However its a matter of obtaining terrain and better positions for the next battle.
To be honest - take a skilled mg42, it will be not a worse killer of the infantry lying on the beach than a sniper. And what would you expect of the flat vast of sandy terrain - would it be difficult to spot and hit men lying there? Its not, as the history shows as well. I dont think complaining bout snipers is right. It rather looks like you guys cant use the opportunities of the game and the equipment to elimiinate the danger of snipers.
