One way to take out a tank that`s pushed into your line,
is to have a couple of non AT units spread with say a bazooka. Once in position (the offending tank) and not facing, run a unit, I tend to use snipers for this sort of suicidal mission away from your bazooka team, allowing the tank to turn it`s weaker sides to the bazooka team, it`s really 50/50 for the sniper but his sacrifice saves a lot more lives.
It`s a pity CC doesn`t recognise that sort of action, the sniper will be lucky to receive a purple heart, usually posthumously.
I did say a couple of non AT units, you don`t want them bunched up together rather with the bazzoka team at the centre of a triangle of "runners". Doing this increases the chance for success in taking out the armour. Since, if there is only one runner team and the armour turns in the opposite direction of where you would prefer it to be the move fails and the position is lost.
In the case that there are infantry supporting I tend, if possible, to bring in mortar behind that infantry. By doing so trapping those units and the armour crew, maybe it`s just me but I always make an effort to take out the crew.
I only wish I knew how to produce a stronger Ai in CC3 something along the line of the vetbob for CCV which gives life to the single player experience.
I know there is a vet mod out here for vanilla, but how about west front, any of the other mods. It would be nice to have more than my Ai opponent letting me take him apart piecemeal.
Having played CC3 since it arrived on the shelves way back in the nineties, there`s not much I can do to pretend the Ai is actually putting up a fight.
Multi-player yes, a whole other ball game, but I`m offshore and 6+ GMT so there`s never anyone on hamachi, damn you international timezones why do you mock me.....
In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
