PostForum: Close Combat 5: Invasion Normandy   Posted: Sun Mar 12, 2006 8:47 pm   Subject: My thoughts
I've been playing Overlord ever since I got high-speed internet and a new computer. I am impressed by the overall feel of the mod, but I really love the new play.

Has the AI been changed? Tanks are still hard to manage, but the computer as an oppo seems more aggressive earlier in the game. The AI still makes stupid moves, but not as many. Anyone else notice this?

Just put two books of mine up for auction. One has excellent line drawings and technical spec for much of the armor that fought in the North African Desert. The other is about the Luftwaffe, from its beginnings to fitful end. If you are familiar with Ballantine's 70's series on WW II, you might be interested.

Stumbled across this resource on the net. Lot's of details on tactics and vehicle specs once you start digging through the links:

First board wargame was either Avalon Hill's Panzer Leader or Panzer Blitz. Leanred from my 10-yr older brother. Then got hooked on SSI's Mech Brigade on a Commodore 64.

And for whomever mentioned Elite, it has been released again by someone who made a DOS version that is 100% true to the original. If you do a google search you might come across it.

CCM is basically junk, and this is coming from an active duty Marine. Although in principle it has a lot of great functions, it is so buggy it will leave you extremely frustrated in the end.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
