Any sign of a vetmod coming out for either the germans or russians? I started playing the mod on the weekend after it came out but was finding it too easy. The russians never put up much of a defence at all, especially on the larger maps - cursed CC5 AI! Sad And I had just too many troops (and this was me on elite, then on recruit,15mins,2 warning, enemy see and full info for them). Then the patch came out and I thought I'll not bother starting again until a vetmod came out. Is there one in production by either the team or a fellow player?

The mod is awesome!! but the KV - 1's are indestrucible, 2 88's opend fire from 224 meters, and nothing, they just turned and blew the guns up. I know the KV 1 had a lot of armor but 88's from that range, on side shots should be punching holes.

I know, they do seem quite indestructible. I had a whole battalion of them land on me, they just knocked out every AT gun and tank in sight. They would have long rolled me off that map if it weren't for the accursed AI. They just sit there, complacent with the 3 yards of territory they won from me, and I just have to sit and wait on the timer. I actually managed to destory one once - quite amazing to me: first shot, with an 88 from several 100m away. Razz

Actually yeah that does happen sometimes. Any time I leave the firewall on (but have enabled all the ports that I need) it asks me do I want to give access to this program and I click allow. But I still never get to play!

Any guides availanle that you know - i haven't found anything uselful on my f-secure internet security readme.

But thanks anzac for the advice Smile

oh have I tried!

It just got too frustrating after several weeks of trying - it was all due to firewalls and ports. I was able to enter all the required ports into the windows xp firewall (i think) but i've been completely unable to get my other firewall (F-secure internet security 2005) to let me play so I just gave up. Every time I'd try to connect to a game, once I'd clicked launch the screen would go blank, and then would stay blank. Then whenever I'd press ctrl-alt-del it'd tell me CC wasn't responding. Worse still was whenever I tweaked some things and it'd let me through to the CC screen but it would just say my name in the roster at the right, not my opponent, and no amount of waiting would solve that.

If anyone could explain how to get playing online or point me in the direction of guides for opening up the ports in Windows XP and in F-secure Internet Security (and not the guide on the gamespy site), i'd be very grateful:)

@Manoi - dat's true - it only took a matter of weeks before Waldganger's BoB vetmod came out:) And great news on the reinforce button! Razz

I'd just like to add to the pool of enthusiasm here on the forums and say that I'm throughly looking forward to the release of this fantastic looking mod, which I'm sure is only days away:)

Just a coupla questions though - will there be any vetmods with the mod? Something would make the german AI be more aggressive or the soviets a bit more determined in the defence, whilst lowering the number of forces available to your BG's, and increasing your enemies.

Also, have you eliminated that reinforce option like the way the BoB mod did? I just really hate that button - and any time I play a mod I always activate it straight away if it's for my side, but it's a wee annoyance I think never should have been put in CC.

But regardless, congratulations for making a fantastic looking mod :drink2
