The next in the series, Close Combat: Red Phoenix™, is a realistic real-time strategy game set on the challenging terrains of today’s Korean peninsula. Loosely based on the New York Times best-selling novel by Larry Bond, Red Phoenix puts players in command of a reinforced rifle platoon of U.S. Marines or South Korean soldiers fighting against an invasion by North Korea in 2006. Red Phoenix is scheduled for worldwide release in early 2005.

can't edit above^

ATTENTION, IF YOU HAVE NOT READ RED PHEONIX THIS NEXT PART CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!!

man just a platoon? you could do the full korean peninsula in cc5 I reakon and have the full effects of the book (I know Patton told me not to but im going to assume you have read the book as well.) If you did a mod with all available troops from the book it would be interesting to see if the Americans and the South Koreans could actually try and hold the North at Seoul rather than falling back to Taejon and outflanking the massively outstreched North Korean forces.

Oh well dreams are free, it wont get made less i make it and I have tried modding and did not succeed lmao Wink, but if anyone else is interested im more than happy to give my thoughts, read the book a few times now.

Sorry mate but I disagree with ya here. (though I am very Anti christian and most religions so could be biast Wink.)

A lot of kiwi soldiers dont care about religion and politics, they are just there to do there jobs and get home which they have my full support to do. However Religion should not play a part and this company making its items with religious markings to me is just plain wrong, especially when you read the exact verse they have put on the gun sights.

Yes there is a lot of Media bashing, and yes a lot of it is not warrented. However this issue was brought up by the soldiers (some Australian as well I might add)  complaining about the religious markings so it is very fair for the media to portray how the army feels.

What pissed me off about the media is them showing pictures of Corporal Apiata's in Kabul. The fact he is New Zealand's most decorated soldier in an area known for enemy being able to easily infilturate has given this man an extra unneccasary risk to his safety. Now im sure it wont bother him or the other members of his SAS unit however I guaruntee a live fighting Victoria Cross recipiant would be a prime target for the enemy to capture and use for ransom demands.

The other Question I have is why did he receive the award in the first place, When you join (or should I say qualify) for the NZ SAS part of the deal is that one will not be awarded the VC for this very reason (There are ways round this, but they are irrelevant for the present.). Why the hell did our govt award him the VC, which 1. could of possibly ended his career in the SAS and 2. Bring his life into more danger in future missions.

However still the responsibility should be on the media to realise the seriousness of the situation and not post his photo of exactly where his unit is and where the taliban or al quaeda could capture him

Hey Mooxe according to an interview I watched with regards to Inglourious bastards. Tarintino has always said this was fiction and was not historically accurate.

That's what I thought until recently, but mate, if you have a decent connection it's well worth it.  I can't see myself ever playing the AI again now, why would I, when there's great games to be had online?

It really isn't hassle.   At the bare minimum, just install Gamespy arcade and meet players there.  They can host and you can join, the game loads itself up, and you're on the battlefield.  To host games, use Hamachi etc it takes a little bit of work configuring your internet, but it's not absolutely neccesary anyway, although once I got into online play I soon wanted to get it all set up anyway, and found it extremely easy thanks to the communities help and players willingness and patience in explaining things through.

Either way, having the game and not using it to its full potential and getting online with it seems a bit pointless.  You don't know what you're missing.   Very Happy

I completely disagree, it was/is a hassle to play online, its a big hassle, especially getting to the actual fighting. However the hassle is worth it Wink. The game play is completely different. I use to play with PZT and i use to find the whole getting into a battle a massive hassle then having to do an AAR after the fight was also a hassle and made the whole experience less enjoyable. In the end i never had the time available to play and also losing my internet connection didnt help (sorry PZT people if any of you are around, i kinda just disapeared) so didnt play that much, but my first 10 or so games where the best cc games i ever played.

OK so i watched a documentry on this and it said that on D-Day they encounted resistance on the first day, the resistance stopped there attack but what the Americans didnt realise was that it was a light holding force and not heavy resistence as they thought.

However on a website which lists the day by day events it stated that it was heavy resistance and not a holding force. Now normally i have found the doco i was watching to be pretty accurate, i accept that the american forces did have high losses and that there attack was held up quite a bit by this force, but was it a heavy force or just a holding force.

I also know that there was a large force hiding in caves and tunnels on bloody nose rigdge.

on a side note its quite parculiar i came accross this particular battle within 24 hours in two different places. Razz

Hitler was undeniably a bad leader. A lot of the things the boosted the economy in Germany during peace time while he was in power were a spin of from the strenghtened military or ideas of someone elses hitler claimed as his own and put in to place. hardly any were from hitlers leadership or original ideas of his own.

Hitler was and always will be a great speaker, that was it, that was all he was good at, properganda and getting people to believe what he was saying was true, and that what they were doing for him, was for a just cause.

There is no evidence or proof of anything you could use to prove hitler was a good leader. He was a genuis yes, but not a great leader.
