Is there any way to access and edit the unit structure abs on The Longest Day, as there is in Panthers in the Fog?

Dima, when look at the attached image, it see that the Sherman are not using AP but SP munition..
What preformance on the SP?

/S
In the Gateway to Caen Abs the 6pdr has AP and Special columns. The Special penetration entry in milimetres is much greater than the AP one. Yet there is no entry in the HEAT column.

Acting on platoon Michael's tip, I've now downloaded Stock mod workbook and WaR stock mod. Had a quick try and seems to be running good. IA surprised me with their bazookas and I lost a couple of Panthers on the try out.

Is there a way using the abs files to restrict employment of teams in each platoon. eg:- a support plt, a armour plt and an infantry plt. I noticed in the BGroup ab that there are 15 columns grouped 1 to 5, 6 to 10, and 12 to 15, is there a way of locking this in?

I'm no fan of Beevor either having read said book. I also haven't ranted. No one writing on Greek classical history have met their subjects either. The material support given to Russia in the earlier days amounted to a huge amount of planes, tanks and especially American trucks, but I have never seen a photo of Russian forces using any of it.
I can understand any Russian feeling aggrieved as to how their role in winning the war was so played down in the west, but the cold war will have to carry some of the blame for that. We in Britain are always moaning that the Americans say they won the war. To my mind the removal of any of the Big Three would have resulted in the loss of the war.
As for rape (no one knows or will ever know), complaints being recorded by Police or Hospitals, in Berlin in 1945, seriously!
Well this has been an unpleasant chat, which is a shame, as I rarely meet some one who is passionate about history. But your insulting attitude means I shall no longer be responding to your posts.

PostForum: The Mess   Posted: Sat Jul 25, 2015 10:08 pm   Subject: Re: Poles remove Russian WW2 monument
To compare the German occupation with the Russian is not the point. The point is that the Russian system imposed on the Poles could not be described as liberation. As for being embarrassed, I've read Stalin The Red Tsar twice, Leon Trotsky, Stalin and his Hangmen, Lenin, Khrushchev, Eduard Shevardnadze, and Afgantsy. So I am not ignorant of that part of the world. Most westerners would prefer living in post war Greece than post war Eastern Europe, of that I have little doubt.
When asked how the war was won, I have always stated, by Russian blood, American industry and British money.
The numbers of Russians who died under Stalin, factless and baseless paranoia, I don't think so.
Not a fan of Stephen Ambrose, a bit light weight.

Many like myself looked at PitF, and said WTF.
Yet after many days in the abs files I changed the composition of every unit, and opened up all the boxes. I also changed the unit strength percentages to 100% ie.1. but I also like the fact that after building a battle group you can reduce the percentage strength overall and/or on individual days.
The main changes was to have in the bottom support box a choice of only support units. ie:- a A/T Plt, Heavy Wpns Plt, Recce Plt, Eng Plt, Howizers, Flame veh etc.
A typical A/T Platoon would have 2 light, 2 med, and 2 heavy A/T guns. You can have one or twenty one of those plts depending on how strong you wanted the Battle group to be.
In the top and centre box I deploy the infantry and tanks. The choices were a 7 squad inf plt, or 2 or 3 recce veh with inf filling the rest of the slots, 2 or 3 tanks or T/D with the inf filling up the rest of the slots.
So the choices for the top two boxes in a basic Battle Group could consist of :- 1 inf coy (7 Squads).
1 recce coy ( 2 arm cars, 1 leader team, 1 5cm mort team, 2 rifle teams, 1 bar team).
                                                                                                               1 Med tank coy (1 Sherman 76mm, 2 Sherman 75mm, 1 Leader team, 2 rifle teams, 1 bar team).
                                                                                                               1 T/D coy ( 3 M10s, 1 Leader team, 1 rifle team, 1 bar team, 1 bazooka team).

And in the support box you can pick and mix ie:- 1 mort veh, 1 flame eng squad, 1 hmg, 1 75mm A/T gun, 1 105 how, 1 50mm A/T gun, 1 Leader squad.
To flesh it all out you can add as many units as you like ie:- 10 inf coys, 3 recce coys, 5 med tank coys, 4 T/D coys.
It's totally flexible. The types of Battle groups I fielded were Armour (tank heavy), Inf (inf heavy), T/D (m10, m18), Recce.
A tank heavy BG would have 3 tanks per coy, veh mnt morts and fewer A/T guns available, where as the Inf BG would have only 2 tanks per coy, mort squads and more A/T.
The Recce BG would have more morts on call and eng teams.
The ability to change a game through the abs seems to be overlooked on the forums. Some may feel that the game out of the box is historicaly accurate and it would be wrong to change it. It's a game, game playability comes first.

Knock your self out. I took that photo when I was going through my Time Lord phase.
On another note. I can't mod, but I have spent many a happy hour (days) in the abs files changing almost every thing. My favourite was in GtC, taking the barrage, increasing its power and having 30 rounds land inside 10 seconds like a TOT fire mission. Also making up user scenarios. This adds longevity to the games.  Mods take a lot of time and effort and I appreciate all the work that modders put in. Here's a question for some of you. Would it be possible to have maps that could be switched around and perhaps even rotated in the user scenario? Just a though. And is anyone thinking of covering the Hertgen forest battles?

Taking into account the planning and resources the Allies need to mount their seaborne invasions in ww2. Our very large Navy, and the combat radius of fighters at this time. Was an invasion seen as a real possibility by those at the top, or was it a huge propaganda effort to get everyone switched on and pulling together?

The Germans mainly killed non Germans, the Russians mainly killed Russians. The Russians didn't liberate Poland, they steam rollered over it on their way to Germany, after the Germans put down the Warsaw uprising.

Decided to go back and have a look at CC4. Using Win 7 64 bit. Everything seems fine except the scroll is not progressive no matter what I set it at. Just shoots of from one end to another. No change in compatibility mode.
