Thanks ronson, excellent post. I appreciate it greatly.

So why do you think the AI went backwards after CC2? Seems so odd that the AI qwould not be improved greatly for each version of the game.

as a general rule most people play 15 min no moral or iniative, harder to find someone willing to play 30 min games, then there are some who prefer moral on. are far as what level u play the more advanced u go the less tanks u get as a rule of thumb, so its up to you as its your gc to set as u wish

Oh, I meant for single player campaign... Razz

I'm always undecided when it comes to the selected options for starting a new campaign.

Start with Lines units, Veterans, or Elite?

Battle ends...

When force morale gets too low?
When time expires in x minutes?
After taking all Victory Locations?

Would some of you guide me in making a good decision for campaign options. Thanks! And how many minutes should I use? 30 minutes?

PostForum: Close Combat 5: Invasion Normandy   Posted: Wed Dec 07, 2005 9:41 pm   Subject: Replaying Orig CC5 campaign - what do I need?
I've decided I want to replay the original campaigns for CC% before gong onto GJB, Stalingrad, and all the other excellent mods.

So my question is... what do I need for that? Do I need patch 5.1? Are there a few basic mods that make the original camaign better - but don't change much else?

Thanks for the help!

You know, I was in the CC5 mod section - and I read through it all 3 more times and still couldn't find it! Then I closed, went back and there it was. I think I need my eyes checked! Laughing

Thanks guys!

Yep I have that! So what other mods should I be looking at? Here's my preference:

What I'm looking for is a realistic experience, but also one with an expanded assortment of tanks and heavy guns. Maybe a good sound mod too.

Stalingrad has a great variety of tanks, vehicles and guns. Also Bloody Omaha is probably the most realistic mod available right now.

Where can I get Stalingrad from? The closecombat.org link doens't work, and I could not find it on this website. And thanks for the input and help! Smile

I'm totally new to the mods... so I'm wondering if I can switch back and forth between GJS and Regextra?

Thanks!

imho idea is bad Sad. CC series is not suited for that and CC5 in particular.

u'll find out why v soon yerself Wink .

i belive u'd better concentrate on 1 battle.
For example on: Greatest Tank Battle of WW2(23.06.41-01.07.41)
5 Russian Mech Corpses+8 Tk Div vs 5 German PzDivisions in Brody-Rovno-Lutsk area(western Ukraine).

To be honest I looked at making a mod that was based on an eastern front battle in the early stages of the war.Particularly the battle concerning the Smolensk pocket. But after doing much research I discovered one glaring fact. The battles that took place on the eastern front are really not suited for CC5 period.Even if you where to make every map 3600 x 3600 you still could not convey the combat properly due to the restrictions of the game itself.

So instead of worrying my self to death about every little detail I decided why not just make it fun.I did my first run tonite with the new russian units(it still doesn't look good as the vehicle graphics have not been done yet)but even though my BT-5 looked like an M10 I still had a blast. And I think thats the whole point is to have fun.

And if the whole thing flops oh well I had fun trying.

This sounds perfect! Don't let Dima dissuade you. It sounds like you have the right idea, and with excellent unit graphics and sound for Russian units... we'll be thrilled!
