Great find, Church! Thanks.

The video quality makes it hard to judge for sure, but the fog, vehicle graphics and new explosion graphics are disappointing. Maybe some high-resolution media, or a demo, or a review in English, would help. I'm not a buyer yet.

It would be great to hear from anyone who has a windows-based tablet on how this plays.

It's a bit early to say it could happen, but I'd like to see that too.

Yep, the intention is to get this ported to the Ipad. That's my goal!

I'm also interested in anyone's opinion on whether this sort of approach is a viable project. Would anyone play this?

At this point, PC.

Game Maker developers publish user content to the Ipad/pod OS. They are also planning to release a studio that allows creators to publish to just about any platform, including HTML 5.

I've spent a lot of time on mods from CC2 to LSA over the years, but have recently spent some time with the Game Maker engine to put together a war board game emulator that I hope to get published for a tablet environment (though I could be completely delusional, since this is my first programming effort). Anyway, I was hoping that some wargamers frequenting CCS.net might be interested in taking this puppy for a test run. There is no AI, so you won't get much of a game solo, but I'm really looking for feedback on design, graphics, rules, etc. My intention from the start was to create a simple game without complex rules.

It's here: http://www.yoyogames.com/games/176143-battle-tactics

If interested, you can post here or send comments to cc2redux [at] hotmail [dot] com

Hey, looks promising. I'd love to see some of your vehicle graphics as well. Don't forget to use the Redux exe for a bunch of fixes to the game.

OK,

I was wrong about the pre-planned artillery thing.

It works fine in the WW2 mod, but not in reg CCMT, or the ARMY Upgrade mod.

However, I noticed it works flawlessly in zon's CC2 Redux.  Exclamation

So it must be data.  Idea

zon, where are you.  Question

I don't recall this being an issue at any point when I put Redux together. Sorry.

If you purchase LSA you get a free download... this is exactly the same as what you get in the box.

Zon will have the DL so doesn't really need the box.. no printed manual with LSA (and it does say The Longest day anyway)

I have a completely different download, purchased separately, with a different serial number from the box version. The two are not connected at all.

Is it possible to use CC5 graphics to this?

In a flagrant and gross example of self-promotion, I wonder if you have tried the Metal Mod here: http://closecombat.matrixgames.com/LSA/LSAmods.html

Hey zon,

The Locust was indeed a tank used by the airborne's. But there is no record of airbone's being involved in the Blockbuster Operation. The operation Blockbuster and operation Veritable where  operations with the goal of clearing the western bank of the Rhine River. Operation Varsity was part of the large scale Rhine Crossing operations.

So no there won't be locusts in this mod

Cheers Buck

Thanks for the clarification. I don't recall asking for a Locust though!
