Further to my first thread: http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=10921#10921 I thought I should round up a few more Market Garden "what-ifs" I have come across. None of these are included in Uffindell's story:

The Brits who glider-assault the north ramp at Arnhem have a PIAT rather than a flamethrower. Imagine the two Welsh guys from the film "A Bridge Too Far" jumping out a glider on the north ramp!

The Brits who glider-assault the north ramp at Arnhem are regular troops from the Borders Regiment and not special forces.

The British gliders do not land south of the Lower Rhine.

The Americans do not glider-assault any of their bridges.

No attempt is made to bomb the Pannerden ferry or other bridges onto the Island. So the Island is not isolated and turned into a giant airhead.

No seaplanes land on either the Rhine or the Waal, let alone Sunderland flying boats loaded with ammo!

The Groosbeck "Heights" are not simply ignored.

Additional forces are not used. In history, the British 6th Airbourne Division was still refitting after Normandy; and the American 17th Airbourne Division was not yet ready for combat. In chapter 1 of Tsouras' book, sufficient airlift capacity is found to drop the 1st *and* 6th British Airborne Divisions on D-Day. (1st British Airborne Corps anyone?!)

Sasebowski's unit was not brought up to brigade strength using other "Free European" (Czech or Dutch) troops. (Wasn't there friction between Czechs and Poles anyway?)

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
