Luft_Karabiner

PostPosted: Sun Jan 22, 2006 1:53 pm Post subject: luft_Karabiner vs Sir Bob_2 Reply with quote

It was a baking September morning, and Williams, Urquhart, Frazer, Reed and Beaumont sat steaming inside the crew positions of their Crocodile flame tank. They were part of a small contingent of troops sent by Colonel Luft_Karabiner to defend Polish Drop Driel from enemy panzer forces. On their right they could see the British scouts creeping slowly up a line of houses towards their objective, to their front they could see the building that they were guarding, and to the left all they could see was a big forest stretching as far as the eye could see. Behind were their supporting infantry units, getting ready for the assault.

Suddenly they could see movement in the target house that they were covering. “I'll get the bastards right through the window,” whispered Frazer, as if the Germans could hear anything they said. Leveling his flame projector, he gave one quick burst. A jet of scorching flame raced through the air, and licked round the building, turning everything inside it into ashes. They heard muffled screams inside the house, as the flame pulverized every nook and cranny of the doomed building, and the unlucky troops inside it.

“Go, go , go!” The infantrymen behind began sprinting for the burned out shell of the dwelling and entered it. There was only one German still left in it. They rushed straight for him, and in a flurry of bayonets and fists the Jerry was brought down. Still panting from the fight, Lance Corporal Lucas saw something that made his blood run cold. Another flame tank, this one German, had just turned round the corner. He saw the flash as the flame gun of the German Hetzer Flammpanzer fired, and the second, brighter flash as the tounge of flame entered the building.

Williams was maddened by this. “Full speed ahead!” he bellowed as he cranked the throttle lever for both tracks way forward. Tuning into the street, he saw the Flammpanzer. He ordered Reed to open fire with his 6 pounder gun. Knowing what had happened to his fellow Brits, he looked through his gun sight. There was the enemy flame-tank, glinting in the sun. He pressed the trigger button, sending an armour-piercing shell smashing into the hull of the Hetzer. The Flammpanzer blew in with a ball of fire, its gas flame propellants igniting with a deafening explosion.

The Colonel reported that a Panzer Mark III tank had been spotted in the woods, so without hesitation, Williams sent the Crocodile charging straight into the woods. Then he saw the Mark III,
speeding towards them. In the panic, Reed missed, and they were at the mercy of the enemy panzer. The Mark III fired, and it's AP shell hit true, hitting the ammo stores and igniting them.

After this, the Colonel sent every armour unit he had against the Mark III. But every tank he sent was annihilated, so without ado Colonel Luft_Karabiner raised the white flag, sending a wave of relief through the German ranks. They had payed dearly for their victory.
