PostPosted: Fri Feb 17, 2006 8:16 am Post subject: Single player Stalingrad? Reply with quote

I've been messing around with the Stalingrad mod... I'd like to try playing the entire campaign, but because of time constraints and unpredictable schedule, the only way this is gonna happen is against the AI.

However, after the first few battles as the Russians I've noticed the Germans seem even more easy to beat than in the original campaign. Is this just because I'm a little more experienced, or is Stalingrad designed only for H2H? It's not like I'm a CC master or anything, it's just so damn simple to slaughter the oncoming Krauts while their tanks hang around doing nothing... any ways to make it more of a challenge aside from changing the diff sliders? Or does it get tougher later on?

Thanks..

1.Put yourself on Elite and AI on Recruit.More enemy units to fight.

2.Put 'Always see the enemy' , 'Always obey orders' , 'Always have full enemy info' on for the AI.

3.Morale off

4.Take for yourself only 5 or 10 units in battle.

I hope this will help you to make the fights more interesting, but if you really want a realistic fight look for an human opponent. Smile

Of course with those settings you as the Germans and the AI Russians is much more challenging. I've just started playing too and trying to at least
look over some maps so vs human will not be a complete joke. If you change some of the Russians forces it will also help them some. AI just can
not play as German though.

ive noticed that after some time your battle groups run out of cannon and tanks, then its quite hard to push back the hordes of russian t34 and kv1 and they can reinforce whenever also ive disabnded my BG and moved up fresh onesit worked for me Smile

THIS IS FANTASTIC, BUT SO SIMPLE! thankyou it has raised AI playing to a new level!
AI attacks your units, not sit on its ass! usually offloads morters on guns, hmgs first, but it makes the game 100% better then slaughtering the idots!
yes i have started a GC as germans in utah 1.3, max 10 units, me on 100% elite, AI recruite 0% realism!
thanks , your a legend
so simple...who'd a thunk it! after 10 years of cc!

Thanks, I'll try with those settings. I'd like to play the gc against someone, but my schedule is busy and variable enough to make it tough to prearrange playing time... anyone else out there in the same boat, want to try a "gradual" Stalingrad campaign?
