Are these:

http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=thumbnails&album=117

from Close Combat, World, Squad Assault, or some other program?

I am as confused as Whistler. (Comment at the foot of:

What exactly does he mean by "3d map converted to a playble 2d format"?

I just don't know man, but it looks like you can hook a CC like game up to that.... and that would be just fantastic!

i seen this before. some how it came from CC2. at first i thought it would be CC6. you'll have to ask who ever posted it to see how he got it.

The entire 3d scene is one big digital 3d model.
If you look at it from a topdown vantage point
it resembles the normal view seen while playing.

You can then use that topdown view to code a playable
2d map using tools like 5cc or 3c.

The topdown views are playable maps, the 3d views are not playable.

The building side wall textures did in fact come from
combat mission bitmaps. The roof and floor textures
came from cc2. So the buildings resemble a freak
mutant offspring between those 2 games.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
