Hello everybody.
I've got a technical problem and I need help to solve it. I've already tried the troubleshooting guide but to no avail.
My operative system is WinXP and the game is slow in running and choppy: running it in compatibility mode for Win2000 (I tried Win95 and Win 98 but I've got an error notification) it improves just a little but the playability is still far away...
What's more, I can't install patch 5.01; in fact, in doing so I can't play at all as an "can't read the CD...." notification appear.
Anyone can help?

After isnatlling the patch when u laucnh the game, u may to browse and select manually the CD ....

Between i can only tell you to apply the compability for 95 or 98 dont let it for 2000 cos window 2000 got some problm to run the game corretcly without correcting files

I get the same XP compatibility issues as well, even with the patch installed. What's worse, is when I try to run the program in Windows 98/ME or 95 compatibility, it crashes completely before it can even load and I get one of the "report this error to microsoft" boxes. So I can only run the game in XP mode which is painfully slow and choppy.

I've got a Pentium D, XP Sp2, 2GB of Ram and a 256MB Nvidia GEForce card. Seems to me like that should be enough to run this, but it doesn't seem to be.

I've also got hardware acceleration turned down and direct draw disabled.

Any suggestions?

If you'r game isn't in english, try changing it to english.

Hello. I think i have the same problem: i have Windows XP and a french version of the game CC5. I have the 5.01a patch and GJS4.4mod. I turned off DirectDraw and i put Windows 98 compatibility. If i don't, the game is laggy. But with 98 compatibility, when i host a game on GameSpy, i have a error message, saying that there is a Data Execution Prevention about Microsoft DirectPlay Helper. I tried to make DEP not to deel with Microsoft DirectPlay Helper, but for each options i choosed in the configuration panel, i had the same problem. Can someone help me about this please?
