The wearing years toil onward
And the ways of the world are wide
But you who have lost, remember,
Though these whom you loved have died,
Neither death nor the year can part you,
Nor the width of the world divide;
And today, as you stand to salute them,
They, too, will be here at your side.
They shall never grow old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condem.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them
Lest We Forget

Forget words,actions will show your true ambitions!The Battlefield,In many cases, the terrain of a battlefield can be the best resource a commander has. A clump of trees, an abandoned house, or a drainage ditch can all be powerful tools in the right hands

lest we forget all those that went over the wall at Galipoli.
And those that fought in the trenches of europe,
we will remember and give thanks

God take those into his haven who gave their lives there in Gallipolu, both Turks and ANZACs. Though I am Turkish and think that winning the Gallipolu War was a great thing for the Turkish nation and I feel thankful to my ancestors who gived their lives without thinking, fighting hill by hill, capturing one while losing other in an attempt to defend their country, I also feel sad about the young ANZAC men dying just because of a needless war. Therefore I would like to state a phrase from the memorial speech of our nation's saviour Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in 1934:

" Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives.....You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours..... You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well"

*Peace in world should be our motto*

They ask me where i`ve been

And what i`ve done & seen

But what can I reply

Who knows it wasn`t I

That someone just like me

Who went across the sea

And with my head and hands killed men in foreign lands

Tho i must bear the blame because he bore my name

lest we forget

we shall never forget

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
