Posted: Thu Jun 22, 2006 11:03 am Post subject: i have
cciv installed now on win xp pro, with 64 bit processor.
stock install of cd(full) NO copies/downloads!
no need to use win98 configurator, no 256 like cc1 needs, just install and go!
just maybe make sure u have installed direct x (probably direct x6or7 on original cciv cd)
assuming the PC is not ancient running XP, eg a pentium 1 90mhz with 32meg bios ram.
also some HP/compac computers have built in graphics cards, if OLD PC may also have troubles.
thats it, im out of ideas!
i have currently installed:
cc1
cc2
cc3 >20 of so mods, 400+(5gig) maps.
ccm3.1(available from marine magazine, maybe sold out)
cciv > most mods, maps of the time.
ccv >15 odd mods, again some 5 gigs of maps. seperate installs of 1946 and reg extra mods.
Road to Baghdad (almost same as ccm3.1)
cc first to fight
ccm4(simtek for marines)
ccm5(simtek for marines)
ccmraf(simtek for raf)
ccVI (ha ha only kidding, seeing if anybody reads it)
Yes ,i have the same problem,CCIV don´t work in XP,solution you download a Virtual machine, install win98 and PLAY!,i going to try this solution now......
CC4 and CC5 working fine (WinXP SP2 + all updates) ntfs formatted harddisk.
I exactly did nothing special. Just installed, patched and played...
does many players have problems with that games on winXP?
My system specs:
Athlon64 + nforce 4 Mainboard, Ati X800XL/Catalyst 5.10
No beta drivers for any part of my hardware.
If you´re on Ati video card give the catalyst driver version i´ve posted above a try, exept you have a brand new card...
Can you post your system specs?
Try to play the game with sounds turned off in options menu / lower the hardware acceleration in windows control panel...

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
