Great news, lately I have been looking for use one map editor from other games on CC but I had found it because CC games are not isometric but.........today I was looking the Blitzkrieg 2 and its map editor and I saw one fantastic thing, on this game with keys you can see the map as on Close Combat games (as a bird) and with a easy console command you can create a full screenshot of all the map from the position where you put the camera.

As you can see on this screenshot.

It is fantastic, with this map editor you can add full maps without long hours on photoshop and the best, it is very easy.

sorry can u take pics of the options u can choose.
but looks a great way to save time with an initial base for a map.

You can do many changes on textures but as main terrain you can see deserts, europe summer, spring and winter, pacific.

Quote:
map sizes?

This was a medium map of 6600 pixels x 5300 pixels or more (more of 100mb of tga). I reduce it to put the screenshot.

Quote:

Many.
Quote:
hills?

Yes.
The same map with some changes and some small hills.

It is a map editor screenshot.

Let's see if I have your drift:

You create a map (perhaps without trees?) using the Blitzkrieg II game.

You then switch to an overhead view and take a screen shot of your map. It might be that you have to cut the map up into sections as Blitzkrieg II maps might be bigger than Close Combat maps (?)

This does as the graphics file of a close combat map. It still has to be coded for elements, elevations, line-of-site and have tree sprites and roofs added. (Guess who's never made a tactical map!)

Finished.

If this is the case, I'd say this is a real breakthrough, especially for those of us with no artistic ability whatsoever.

Messing around with the game Axis & Allies one can do the same within the editor but I havent gotten as far as Firefox.
It looks like I would need just a little bit more from the camera angle (Darn)
But then again you'd have to figure out how to extract the images to use them.
It's a shame too because those would be some kick ass vehicles/tanks to use.

no was in reference to the poster
who thought it was for people with no artistic talent.
kinda funny for long time they complain about firefox using maps
then he starts to make his own(which we would also be able to use)
as well as show every1 else how to do at same time.
and he gets snipes like that done.
i reckon its a great idea.as with the vehicles u showed.

looks like if you move the camera around a little bit I can get them to look a little better, shame I can't get rid of those blue lines though.

I geuss I'll see what they look like after extracting them with Photoshop and maybe doll them up a little.

Pretty cool that it applies a paint scheme dependant on what type of terrain your map is.

If these can be imported to CC then it's a major breakthrough! The maps look a little "tiled" but they're better than half the custom CC3 maps I've seen! Of course, you will have to put up with the criticism of the purists who think everything should be made from scratch, but so what. A little photoshop work and they are a great start, and think of the time savings!

As for the tanks, I think they look great, the blue line can be painted over maybe?

I didn't think his comment was sarcastic. I took it as "Great for people who cant spend weeks learning photoshop" which is true.

Yes and no, I use a size as CC games. But you can reduce them.

You must coded all elements, elevations, roofs and more. It is only to create easy textures and many things than you can not see on other CC maps. On few words, you can create a new map textures thinking more on tactical elements than on the textures and you can change all the terrain very easy.

I know the photoshop very well but I only was looking for a new type of texture editor to not spend weeks doing maps. With it I can do two or three maps on few hours. Other tools as 5cc let you coded maps very fast.

I never got the vehicles to work/look right.
when I had to rescale them to fit in CC it just totally ruined the image.
I have never figured out how to maybe extract them from the game so the best I could do was just using a screen shot.
