Everyone seems to be playing CoH over here. It's cool to see the younger gamers enjoy a cool looking WW2 RTS, but the gameplay is arcadish at best. There's resource building of course...so you build units before sending them off to the frontlines...yuck! The missions are mostly linear so replay value is nowhere near games like CC (once you find a tactic to beat the mission, you just repeat the same thing and replay to get better results and more medals).
Weapons data is also arcadish...eventhough soldiers can't hurt tanks without AT equipment like some RTS. Eg: a Tiger needs 2 shots to destroy a Sherman from the side...so I guess it's just hit points based? Morale and psyche modelling is abstracted.
The graphics are awesome though...maybe someday we'll see a game this pretty with realistic data like CC...this would be amazing! Wargamers won't have to put up with dated graphics anymore...and for the 'fun' gamers just give them an 'arcade' difficulty setting Very Happy .

If CC6 could be built on a flashy 3D engine...with CC gameplay and data accuracy intact...I think it would sell better...exploting the market already created by CoH and maybe Biltzkrieg.

It is an excellent game IMHO. I do like the fact that you can have veteran units (and lose them just the same if you dont pay attention) That reminded me of the good old days that i played Panzer General *sigh*. Did anyone else played Panzer General? I loved playing it! It was by SSI if i remember correctly.

Sure it has disadvantages, but they dont weigh up against all the pros. It`s like C&C but WW2 style and much much better on all fronts. Yes it`s arcade, yes it has basebuilding. But you do need strategy sometimes. Why wage a full frontalassault against a German base if you can build a forward fire base with a 105mm howitser battery and pound that base to rubble. Use reconplanes to scout flanking routes and find weakpoints etc etc.

Apa kabar tuan?

If i remember correctly all the infantry squads in COH have the "throw sticky bomb" option. You dont need a Rangersquad or picked up Panzerschrecks or other AT equipment. It just takes a little longer hehe...
