I made a set of "View Map" files for use in CCIV. The Original set had an overview map with a little strat map inset, but no way to tell where the damnable roads connected. I added lables to the roads so that you can tell where it is that you will be attacking from. (Too many times I came in from the wrong road, only to face My opoonent's Panzers fom the protection of a wooden fence!). I need to know how to insert these into the game, is there a tool that will do it? If there isn't, I'll make a set of printable maps, maybe 4 or six to a sheet, and upload them for everyone to use.

The only practical way for you to put them in the game is to redo all of the map .ovm files. Extract the .ovm's to .tga and add the lables to the image and convert them back to .ovm's. It will be a little more complicated than that, you will need to make a larger image with a neutral (not snow white) border, or with the map preview screen green background colored border and center each map in the larger canvas, then place the labels.

Actually, that won't work either. I just tried it by putting a 21 pixel boarder around the LeGleize.ovm and cutting and pasting your labels in to it.

The problem comes from viewing it in the Map screen. The VL's are picked up from the .btd file and don't agree with the hotpoints of the .ovm. The only way to do it is to place the names directly onto the .ovm image.

another way to go about it is like this.

Forget words, actions will show your true ambitions! The Battlefield,In many cases, the terrain of a battlefield can be the best resource a commander has. A clump of trees, an abandoned house, or a drainage ditch can all be powerful tools in the right hands

I'm old school and a bit of a fuddy duddy, so I use two of the old tools to extract and repack. I used TM3Bats to convert the .ovm's to .tga and back, then mmmovmfix.exe to fix the headers of the images.

I believe Mafi's 5CC will do it as well and better with just the one tool. Perhaps someone else here would comment on that.

Very good idea there Kilroy,That would be a very usefull thing to have for a grand campaign.

The easiest tool to use would be Mafi's CC2 Tools, found here in the download section or at Mafi's web site.http://members.fortunecity.de/closecombat2/GuideList.html#
I have no idea what to expect from the game by editing the .ovm since it wont be the same as the .mmm or.bgm

I agree with Drill in that putting the name ON the .ovm would probably produce better results.

The strategic screen isnt a very viable option as it is
1) Too small
2) Doesnt show the playing maps like Anzac's strategic map.

assign a nice lil sign where the exit btds ares.
open it in 3c and extract the ovm.
