Look all i no is there is way to much blood in close combat.
Dont you think,
Sorry for the kind of horrible material
But i want to show you this example.
If you look at the old WW2 films. And look at the boddies they arent as bloody as the ones of close combat.
Im not saying war is not gory but the ones off close combat are too cartoony.
But i dont think its bad i just want to see what the games like when the blood is toned down. If you play the game from a far zoom you will see that the pools of blood are at times a bit over the top..
I have nevr been in a war or shot any one in my life (of course)
But im sure a simple rifle shot will not course a man to be in a huge pool of blood like cc.
Not evan a shot too the head will cuase as much blood as in close combat.
And i think the blood is too bright. Blood is much darker.
But hey guys
Its only a light hearted game. But im just thinking a lil to deep eh?
__
No one liked my idea for close combat six for some fucking stupid resson.
but i wanted the KIA bodys to look appropriate to the way they were killed.
Example:
MG FIRE: A bloody mess or a few dots of blood
Rifle:A few dots of blood.
Mortor: a few bits blood or leg blowen off, Completely blowen too bits. ect
Mine: legs blowem off
Most of the time when shot you dont see huge amounts of gore.
Please i dont want any smart ass post saying.
But AntHony have you been in a war? Didnt think sooo.
So how about you leave the war analysis up to poeple like me. Instead of you kiddo!
Im just presuming from the footege i have seen.
And please dont make me out to be some sicko who looks at dead boddies all the time. Im not ok.
IMHO I think the design of the bloody casualties is for the purpose of distinguishing the living from the dead. I don't think the designers had any love for gore but made things bloodier for the tactical purpose of knowing the status of troops in the heat of battle. With the sprites being so small, if you minimize the blood, you might mistake a dead squad as intact and fully functional. Sure there are other ways of checking the status of a unit but time is essential in some especailly heated contests and a bloody corpse is a pretty telling sign.
I do agree that there is too much blood and gore in a lot of video games out there but I just choose not to play them. But in the case of CC, with the tiny sprites, I think it is tactically necessary.
Yes!...and no.
When your men are under heavy MG fire if you cant tell whos dead and whos alive god is not going to go and say
Hey SARGE!! Dont worry ill make it there is more blood so you can tell who dead!
I if i chould choose i would keep the blood for the top ressons.
And some one told me that the blood is good becuase a line of bloody dead troops warns you about the fuck up you made.
But i just wanted to see what it would be like. Not for a H2H game though..

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
