this tale is true is not based on fictional character/s.
last week, i made the the purchase of windows Vista home premium, a OEM version with some computer parts, its the genuine DVD/boxed set from a reputable seller. cost some $189 AUD,just a bit over 120usd/euro.
I have a AMD3500+,2 gig of 400hzt Ram(4 512) a sata 160gig HDD,winTV pci,250meg raidon 550 graphics driver pci,dvd rom Liteon166s,dvd pioneer AO110D,8 usb ports,battery free wireless mouse. basically really good for mid last year.
i had a good set up with winXPsp2.
my first mistake was maybe in not formatting the drive i had,i did this on attempt 3!
first install, wow it was quick and easy! 15/20mins to install all of vista, basically tap in some codes/info and walk away!
it looked awsome, the gidgets(small picture viewer/clock/news/pc speed konfadulator stuff) amazing hi res screen's,kool new look, all opaque similar to macx10 stylishness. nice new menu styinig, took some getting used to, but then came the driver errors...
...bloody white screen every 10 seconds warning i had drivers it could not load, 'search for solutions?'....'cant find solutions'
THEN after a hour of updating from windows site, getting new drivers...
i had sound, good large screen resolution, and could see my dvd drives...then the bad part...
i tried to load my programs!
winTV>failed,vista cancelled,tried compatibility, nada!
ATI drivers > failed.
Nvideo>failed.
then my cd/dvd drives dissapeared! later on on after second install and i loaded XP again, the XP upgrade said the drives had 'lost high and low resolution(similar word)'
so i deleted first install, back to XP.
i tried again, ANOTHER FULL INSTALL OF VISTA, same problems.
then i put in my old IDE 80 gig HDD,cleaned it(format) and loaded vista, seemed better, but still wont load same programs.
i noticed my backup cd, with programs like winrar/shrink/dvd decrypter had little windows security shields, this means there vista compatable, it was around 50%!
even Nero6 failed, but i still loaded, always warnings of 'do u want to run this program that has known issues'
i got sick of this message!
so after 3 hours of updating, setting up emails,ie7 etc..i took out the drive and put back my sata 160 gig with XP.
vista is on the backburner. untill i get a NEW PC,its looking to be a celeron duel core, and ill check ALL HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE IS VISTA COMPATABLE!
my advice is:
1 under no circumstance get the vista upgrade.
2 do not load vista on your current PC, wait!
3 only load vista on NEW systems designed for vista.

lmao guess u dont watch the news much!
they had a harvey norman release at midnight for the new windows system
all these pc geeks lining up so they could be first to have it.
next day when it is installed
they get told by telstra there is connection available for it in australia
as their technicians had not been trained on how to connect Vista to the web.
well i thought it was hillarious!
Forget words, actions will show your true ambitions! The Battlefield,In many cases, the terrain of a battlefield can be the best resource a commander has. A clump of trees, an abandoned house, or a drainage ditch can all be powerful tools in the right hands
ANZAC_Tack. I got same problems. Drivers are ok. Just that confirm message. I heard you can switch off that protection. But, i have problem with a sound driver. I can hear a sound but OS has a problem with it. Also...THE WORST THING AFTER ALL MY EFFORT FOR CC IS THAT I DON'T HAVE CONNECTION METHOD IN MULTIPLAYER MENU !!!!!!. IT's GOOOOONE. There is only space for IP adress and nothing. No buttons !! I am going to kill somebody. I don't need clock...I don't need it. I just like only one thing. Button switch between windows when you press it, all your processes are shaped to kind of cascade windows in the middle of desktop. Rest is holy shit.
