Juno Beach

II/736 Div VS 7th Brigade/3rd CDN

In this battle i had:
2 Pak 40
1 Pak 43/41
2 sMG 42
1 8cm mortar
3 Zugfürher
1 Panzerjäger
and supporting infantry


My soldiers were positioned near the bocage near the beach and in the surrounding houses.
1 Pak was in the house behind the le château and the other on i the house above.
The Pak 43/41 was positioned on the road between the houses.
Both MG 42 were in the houses with the Paks.

The battle started with Frazzer moving up his infantry and a Centaur IV.
The centaur slipped past my units and took the road south f the le Chateau.
He captured the road to courseulles and moved up 1 Coy HQ to hold the house next to the VL.

But then a grenadier squad attacked the house and killed the Coy Unit and in the progress losing 3 men, 1 KIA.
That action secured a way for the Panzerjäger unit to sneak up to the tank and use a panzerfaust.
But the Centaur spotted them and shelled the house.
1 man got killed.

In the same time a flame unit moved down to the tank and tried to flame it, but gott spotted an had to retreat.
Then the Panzerjäger unit rushed out and put 2 Panzerfaust charges in it.
The tank exploded. None survived.

But Frazzer got angry and rushed a DD Sherman up the beach but it got tracked on the sea wall.
Frazzers infantry ran across the beach and ou to the north flank and the VL
to Gold beach. My Mg42 tried to stop them, but the infantry made their way to the bocage and took cover.
I had a grenadier squad to root them out.
The succeeded fairly easy by throwing hand grenades.

Frazzer made a last effort assault on the le Chateau.
But defending the chateau was only a decimated grenadier squad.
Frazzer was rushing with 3 full Coy HQ squad and a half RM squad.
My troops managed to kill the RM squad but got overrun by the Coy HQ squads.
It was a big Hand to Hand combat.
And I lost...
But Frazzer lost some soldiers in that fight.
My forces had to retreat to a second defensive line .
Frazzer moved up a second DD Sherman in to some bocage but it was a great mistake.
The crew of the Pak 43/41,that 5 minutes ago survived a air-strike without injuris or damage, had a clear line to the DD Sherman and made a go for it.
2 shots and it was destroyed.

Both our forces were decimated and needed rest so we both agreed to a Truce.

Frazzer got the following VL's:
Bunker
Bunker B
Exit 1
Le Chateau
Juno Beach
and
the road to Courseulles.

I got the rest.

The result: Major Allied Victory
