Hello guys.
Ive been playing CC5 for a while now and theres a couple things id like to queiry. I love the mods and actually think the standard 5.01 is highly under-rated
First, Is the standard blue move command actually usefull for infantry?. I seem to be either running or sneaking and never in-between.
Secondly. what do the different colour fire tracers mean?
Finally, what are the different rare mental states which soldiers can take on? and are there any specific triggers for these ?
So far ive seen Heroic and Fanatic. I seem to remember in CC1-2 there were more different ones. Berserk maybe ?
Move
This orders infantry to cautiously advance. Infantry on the move are not quite as stealthy or as observant as men who are sneaking, but they are faster. Moving infantry initiates combat if the opportunity arises. Using Move through a minefield is dangerous. When infantry reach a location they have Moved to, they then revert to Defend mode.
Fire
While your soldiers are capable of firing on their own initiative, it is often useful to direct their fire. The Fire option brings up a targeting circle. The targeting circle is connected to the firing unit by a coloured line. When the circle is not sitting above an enemy unit, it appears as a thin, white circle. When placed on an enemy unit, the circle either turns green, yellow, red, or black. This colour corresponds with the chance that a shot will hit the enemy unit.
Green............100-60% Red ................29-10%
Yellow..........59-30% Black..............9-0%
When deciding whether or not to order a unit to Fire, it is important to consider the situation. If a unit is laying down suppression fire, it does not have to actually kill the enemy to have the desired effect. On the other hand, a small Bazooka team waiting in ambush while an armoured column approaches had better wait for a killing shot.

I find move command useful to keep troops together. If you give a move fast command to more than one unit they will spread out, the guy with the mg is always last.
Also move can be good for tanks to reverse. If you give a move fast command the tank will try to turn around and drive. If you give a move command they will reverse. Useful if you poke your nose out from behind a building and that 1 enemy tank suddenly becomes 3 tanks!

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
