guys, don't you think this terrorist crap is going too far. The U.S. government is the major terrorist nowadays. sorry but i disagree with this mod, and all the other propaganda games that brainwash people into believing there is this evil thrat that grows with no reason to attack the "good people of America". this crap of the good guys and the bad guys has to end!
Sorry about the political statement, i was hoping for a different CC release based on historical battles.
You're absolutely right. If the US just simply converted over to Islam they would be better off. Goes for Europe too.

so why is gasoline so damn expensive now? Oh, those screenshots above were nice on CC with the additional orders that can be delegated.

Hia All,
Not sure where the " a sim" cannot take the place of actual training came from.
I have been to Lejune, Pendelton and other bases with the USMC and RAF Regt and if one thing that comes back is just how effective the sims (CC Especially) are at helping with junior leaders learning through repetition to react a certain way at key points!
The above is a link to art of the USMC workbook to accompny CCM and its follow ons!
The quote below says an awful lot:
Quote:
Lt Col McBreen:
“Close Combat” and Learning Infantry Tactics
I have learned more about small-unit infantry tactics from the “Close Combat” simulation than I have from fourteen years of Marine Corps infantry experience. I am an infantry major with fourteen years commissioned service, seven years with 5th Marines, three years in schools, and three years as an infantry training officer with the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab. I have deployed overseas with 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines four times. I have commanded two infantry platoons and one rifle company. I have served as a battalion operations officer and regimental operations officer. I am a student of tactics. I have taught NCOs and officers infantry tactics. I have participated and led tactical decision training.
None of these activities or learning experiences can match the effective and focused tactical learning that I have experienced through repetitive fighting of the small unit scenarios in “Close Combat.” “Close Combat” permits a player to fight hundreds of scenarios, make thousands of tactical decisions, experiment with different tactics, and learn from his mistakes. I would be a far more qualified platoon commander now than I was twelve years ago. Through fighting the “Close Combat” simulation, I have internalized significant platoon-level tactical lessons
I have met many Marines who have trained using CC and they KNOW the value of it! Both pre-deployment and when back off deployment. I have met and talked with the CTA specialists tasked with evaluating it in a as opposed to std in the field training. The key is decision making and this is where CC as a sim comes into its own, it can build memory muscle by the repetetion of key decision points. This is proved to work and to be just as effective as in the field training as the key is to make a decision under pressure. The USMC spent a lot of money on studies on CTA to learn if a sim was any good at this and in fact its actually better in many ways for certain aspects of training. In the field a trainee may get to make the key decisions a couple of times, but in the simulation it can be hundreds of times.
As anyone in todays modern military can tell you, simulations are helping to train soldiers now! This is a fact!

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
