I don't know if this is the right place for this, but it looked like the best.
I love this mod, but I had a few comments. Issues you may already know about. Most coming from the fact that my friend playing as the germans was kicking my butt.
1 The AVRE did not want to fire its main gun. When targeting a building or an infantry or anti-tank gun, the main gun on the AVRE said no target and never fired.
2 The PIATs. Granted these weapons were not very accurate after 50 meters. The maximum range for my unit looked to be less than 15 meters
3 Houses on the beaches. These houses on the beaches were mostly burnt or destroyed by bombardments and airstrikes. Would it be possible to change these houses from complete structures to rubble of some kind?

The AVRE has a maximum range of 80 meters. Target anything beyond that range and it will refuse to fire.
If the AVRE refuses to fire it's main armament at ranges below 80 meters, it often helps to re-target a few times. Usually that will get the target blown to pieces.

Must be your perception. I can imagine the frustration of a PIAT missing it's intended target when you get your a** wiped by some German panzers.
The effective range is actually more than 50 meters. Make sure you have a command team nearby, that will increase accuracy a lot.

When looking at photographs of the area on D-Day, you'll see that a surprizing amount of buildings actually was still standing after the bombardments.

Some of the beach houses were actually concrete block houses decorated by the Germans to look like seaside houses. I have no idea what beaches these were on, but I recall it was fairly common along the Alantic Wall. Maybe someone else has more info on that . . . ?
the piat has a range of 85metres in gjs.sometimes they may not fire when under fire.
Forget words, actions will show your true ambitions! The Battlefield,In many cases, the terrain of a battlefield can be the best resource a commander has. A clump of trees, an abandoned house, or a drainage ditch can all be powerful tools in the right hands
Couple of comments on the GJS Strat Guide. This might not be the proper place but nonetheless...
On the aircraft: on the German side only the occasional Fw190 or Me109 will grace the skies. The Me262 was not yet in production during the GJS timeframe.
For the Allies you'll get either a Spitfire (MG-fire only) or a Typhoon. The Typhoon comes with 3 different weapon arrangements; all have 2 cm guns, one additionally has bombs, and another one rockets. These last two are the panzer killers.
As for exploding barb wire: that's not around in GJS. However where there is barb wire, there are often also mines intermingled with the barb wire. Soldiers blowing up can be attributed to that.
On another note: for a strategic guide there's one thing missing; an insight in the strategic map of GJS. For people who are playing (online) GC's that might be a welcome addition. There are most certainly aspects of the strategic map that are not obvious at first sight. I'd be glad to give some hints there to the maker of this excellent Strat Guide.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
