Hello, all...figured I'd introduce myself. A buddy of mine was cleaning out his 'games closet' the other day, and came across Close Combats 3-5, I borrwed 'em, and did a quick online search...and here I am! Site looks great, and I love seeing old games having new life breathed in to them.

My one question so far is about the Config Manager. I understand how to run and set up the program itself, my question is something much more...basic, I guess...can mods for all 3 of my CC games be put in to the plugins folder of config manager, or will I need a separate install of it for each of the games?

Excellent! and thanks for the quick reply.

It will be a little bit before I'm ready to download some of the mods, though. Man oh man, I've got CC3 installed right now, and it's kicking my rear.

No disrespect meant to ZAPPI4, but CCIV and CCV use different config. managers.

I believe CfgIV27.exe and CfgV13.exe are the last versions Zeppo9 put out.

Cheers

Good to know, man. thanks for the info! Downloaded the Commonwealth Summer package for CC3 last night as a test that I knew what the heck I was doing...no problems (so far...). Smile

I've noticed that CC4 seems to have a lot less download material for it than 3 or 5 do...is that a reflection on the game quality, or did people just jump on the other 2 for other reasons?

CanuckFury, I believe that CCV was released pretty much on the heels of CCIV and most of the modders moved on to that version for its advantages...........bigger strat map, being able to pick your own teams, longer campaign timeline, etc. It was just recently that the tools needed to completely rework the CCIV strategic map and interface became available.

I think if there were more mods available for CCIV it would have a bigger following. Having said that, TTs VetBoB 1.13 mod still stands as a high water mark in modding, if you like aggressive AI.

There are at least three new CCIV mods in the works. Stay tuned.

Cheers

Okay, that explains things with CC4, then.

At any rate, it really is great to find so much work still being put in to great old games! (I've been at this a week, and am already hopelessly addicted.)

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
