I'm glad to say that CC5 2nd Battle of Kharkov mod has been released! You can find it in CC5 download section.
There are many good mods to play and many good mods under contruction: CC after years is still alive and this is great!
I suggest to play the mod without "when force morale got to low" option, and with the time set to 15 minutes. About multiplayer the mod hasn't been tested so don't ask me about these because I don't know if/how it works.
I want say a big thank you to all for the support!
I hope you will enjoy with it.
Regards, Drizzt
Kharkov 2 is really a huge battle of WW2, with a great strategic importance, and I am sure that your CC version is great.
I will try to play a little to it. Just for the moment I am busy with the future launch of SOC.... so I have little time to spend on your work. Accept my apologies.
Thank you very much too! I'll try to play this mod as soon as real life gives me some free time for computer games! That's one of the mods I was really waiting for!
Thanks a lot for the mod, Drizzt! Like I said on the other thread...I'm having a blast! I'm also glad that we had a chance discuss and clear up my missconception on the historical Russian Uniforms for the period .
I haven't got enough free time to start a grand campaign...but the single battles are a blast.
BTW, I've been playing with "when force morale got to low" option on...why do you suggest that this should be turned off? I'm playing as Germans against the AI...using a quickie Vetmod (bigger Russian Teams, basic infantry SAI change)...and battles last about 10-15 mins before "force morale" kicks in...sometimes even lasts the whole 15 mins.
Drizzt, thanks for the mod, i dll'd yesterday and will start pl when i finish BloodyO. What, are main differencies between historical and regular grand campaign?
to Pzjager: you know that I have had great fun with SDK mod so I await SOC mod with great interest! Maybe this time Paulus will not surrender... (hehe!)
to squadleader: I'm glad that you enjoy with the mod! About "force morale" is only a personal opinion, I try to explain: without it also when you are in defensive map the enemy seriously damaged by you will not leave from the map, and if you want the map you will fight hard, suffering losses, to conquer it, because IA often hold one tank, machineguns teams and AT guns near its last victory location (not only in my mod, I mean in general). Often you will enjoy for all 15 minutes (times run out) or you will agree to cease fire after a counterattack failed (heavy losses for both side: try to imagine a tank immobile as last IA team, and you have only some infantry teams). Also in this way you are obliged to use more tactics: for example to stop one tank of the enemy with your infantry teams near your last victory location (you know that morale go very down after that you have lost all guns and tanks: in this way you try to resist using your last infantry troops).
to mochoho: the only difference is that in GC you have more days for play, in HC you have at your disposal only the real number of days of the battle.
Just checked the maps screenies and started to download the baby. Thanks to all the people who put effort in this and all other mods/maps and keep the community supplied with such a variety.
I am from Russia. Thank you for this mod. My grandfather was killed in this war - The great war. And man, who can do the mod not only for the D day or Ardenn's offensive is very good man. My english is really bad)))
I need alittle help with playing this mod. when i try to go the battle selection screen it will no and say that has encountered a problem and needed to quit. can i get some help, cause i really want tot play this mod
Hi king tiger tank (I have seen also the PM), I have tried to have this error (I have tried to "damage" my mod, hehe!) to understand the file involved, but unfortunately I don't undestand.. the strange thing is that you have this error when, if I have understood well, you click "play game": never happens to me (I mean in general, not only in my mod). Seems not a map file error because it happens too soon; and not a mod file error because you have re-download it and the error is still there.
Suggestions:
- check in "install applications" if you have old CC applications not removed.
- use windows 98 compatibity for the exe.
- try to install it manually file after file (file type= for example all adb file then all txt file ecc.), after every type files re-written try to enter in the game and click play game, in another words try to find the file that do this type of error.
- check if you have all maps files in map folder.
- try to re-download it: is really rare, but can happens that you can have a "damaged download" not only one time, but two or three times.

Played a couple of maps against the AI, general feeling is good, liked what I saw so far.
Problem - as always - is the terrible AI, so I wondered if there is/will be a vetmod around soon?
Hi, sincerely I don't think that in my mod IA is "terrible". But I agree with you that CC5 IA speaking in general is not good so also in my mod is not good.
About vetmods I'm sorry but for now I don't have planned to do them, maybe in future. If someone want to do and release them I am glad! Only they should be considered "unofficials".

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
