Hello
I am trying to play this great mod, that I know its great because I can play the battles and they are great. But the campaign h creates me a serious issue. The campaign map has the battlemaps all missplaced and mixed over the bacground map. Maps that shoudl be adjacent are not maps one over the other in same place, half the maps at east bank of volga...
what could be wrong?
THe only thing i didt out of the script is. I had to use another executable sicen the Stalingrad one asks for the CD. Coudl this cause the problem?
If yes, is there a way to play stalingrad withuot the CD, I really don 't want to use my criplingly old CD more than needed.
Ok , after some experimentation seems that the issue is really the executable. Although the stalingrad executable is not usable here. It complaisn of no CD even with the CD on the drive.
Usign the GSJ, or SOC executables I can run the game (even with stalingrad mod) but the campaign map gets screwed.
Any ideas why just stalingrad executable coudl not work? Just some pointers would be enouhg, I can hack and slash those bianries if needed, but have no idea where to start. And what differences a mod have on its executable.
The campaign stratmap data and maps index information are stored in the exe...so if you don't use the specific mod exe you're always gonna be...err...screwed
The customized mod exe also contains other data specific to the mod like soldier uniform colors, interface menu modifications etc.
If you really must play without the CD...make an ISO image and mount a virtual drive.
Also do a search and look for no-CD exe...a while back Yukongold posted no-CD exe offset data for manual hex editing of the exe.
