First, thank you all for your kindness. Both SDK and SOC have taken me a lot of time, efforts, etc... and your messages are really giving me the strengh to go further with this game which remains 10 years after the best game never seen...
SOC has just yesterday been downloaded by 1000 fans. It is bad and...nice. Bad because I launched SDK by november 19th, 2006, and the 1000th download was at this time obtained within 20 days or so. Nice because I realise that SOC is just 1.0 version. The 1.1 version with a stunning German Vetmod will be released. This version that I am playing on and upgrading day after day on my Win98 PC will be available ..... let's say asap. It will really be my gift to those of you who really want CC to be a challenge....
For the others, who historically claimed to want a more challenging game, but are ....now claiming that SOC is ...too difficult, an other version will be released at the same time.
And, ULTIMATELY, for the H2H players, a real H2H SOC will be released as well.
So, everybody might be happy: a) the real players against the AI wanting an historical reality, b) the newbies who don't know how to fight against what some claim as a poor computer AI and c) the H2H players who want to play CC as an arcade game.
That said, SOC v1.1 will be released ASAIC, but should be followed by the v2.0 version of its father SDK. SDK v2.0 will be SDK upgraded to SOC standards, but will be as well launched with a submod called SDK:DK (Die Kampfgruppen) in which you will be be able to fight in the Don steppe in end november 1942 with these famous Kampfgruppen as Simons, Goeble, Sauerbruch, Lepper, some Guppen units as the romanian Lascar or the Hollidt panzerkorps and so other many ones. SDKDK will also be launched with 3 new maps, ttwo are already done!
As you can see, CC is more than well alive. Bir Hakeim is born. 3 maps are already finished. I am worjing hard on this mod.
Well, the less you can do all is to write a message to any post you are interested in. I have seen even today some veteran CC3 players coming back to this eternal game....
I, personaly, will NOT give up with CC. With the help of Mooxe and Zappi, SOC is just a baby.
Although i'm just a noobie, I also want to thank pzjager for his commitment and dedication to CC. His mods have have been a testament to how hard work and diligence can produce such a wonderful and magnificent product.
I can tell that you've not only managed to create an awesome gaming experience, but have also tried as best you can to maintain a high degree of historical accuracy, and I think thats AWESOME! Your work with the AI and the difficulty of the mod is great....don't change a bit!
Reading your messages just further convince me that you can really improve the difficulty of CC5 if you carefully adjust the game settings and coding.
I am still working on the German Vetmod, which should really be the ultimate challenge. My own GC is still on the january 20th and I am really not sure to be able to resist somewhere until february 2nd!
Some maps still give me a headacke, that's why this submod, which I want the best possible, is still not available.
These settings will also be used for SDK 2.0, which might give a real second life to this mod.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
