I am getting this error message when trying to launch the game on a WIn XP Pro machine, no patch on CC5. The fullerror reads:
"cannot locate cd-rom, please insert cd-rom, select OK and restart app."

I have CCIII installed on the same machine and it works fine. In both cases I only have a minimum installation, not a full install.

I have searched but could not find an exact match of this error.

Any ideas?

It should give you a browse option. Hit the browse button and then locate and select the appropriate drive where the disc is located.

i had the exact same error....frustrated me like crazy.

the solution for me was that i installed the patch. then, when i restarted the game again. the browse to location of CD option came up.

so install the patch...hopefully thatll fix your prob

Note - I think you need to have a full install of CCV before loading the patch.

Well going to have to try the patch as no option to browse for CD drive appears now.
