Hi guys,

I have to say that your GC is at least interesting!

I still believe, however, that Ronson is playing it cool.... or is he afraid? Go on, man, they even don't have Tigers!

The regain/loss of Baburkin is not strategically important. What is important in this sector is Novo Alexeïevskij.... Maybe an offensive from the Kurgan could help??

Congratulations, generally speaking, to the german player. You will hopefully forget the loss of your PzF2.... But be careful, they are not so many! And next time, man, don't let a russian tank scouting on the frozen water like the one I saw on the pic!!!!!!! Nebelwerfer42 is the answer in this case!

Looking for the following of your campaign!

Cheers

Thanks for your interest guys. I just wanted to say to everyone keep an eye out for a large update coming in the next couple days. After a long, looooong almost 2 weeks of midterms, Ronson and I have picked up where we left off and played through the entire 2nd turn + some. There were some good battles, the action has definently picked up and I will try to put it up either tomorrow or tuesday. Thanks again for reading!

PS. Pzjager, thank you for a great mod. Any tips? Very Happy Even though Ronson is playing it safe he is still rolling me on a couple maps and I fear that my force pools will be depleted way before the end. Is there any way to survive the cold soviet hands of death?

Day 1 P.M.

Saponovka

Strategic Overview

The following forces were deployed into battle

Our positioned our infantry in the northern section of the town with the rest of our infantry on the south bank of the river.

The battle opened with Soviet artillery opening fire on our PzIV Turret knocking it out as well as a Pak 40 we had stationed in a house beside it. It seems the bastards are intentionally targeting our AT capabilities.

The soviets then try to sneak along our fortifications but find themselves on the wrong end of a flamethrower.

They also attempt to sneak into the northern section of town but find it well defended. The soviets call in artillery and attempt a charge but find it futile.

This afternoon, losses were much higher for the soviets, but god knows they can afford it. Meanwhile, our turret and Pak 40 are worth more then gold to our soldiers right now.

Day 1 P.M.

Novo Rogatschik

Strategic Overview

The following forces were deployed into battle

Our forces in this sector enjoy the benefit of superior training, equipment, morale, and defenseive position. So not much was expected from the Soviet forces here. Our forces were positioned in the town, and across the river to contain the enemy.

The battle opened with Our Pz III staring down the barrel of an enemy AT gun and Soviet troops streaming into the town.

But our men stood tough and showed those bastards what german soldiers are made of! We knocked out their gun and tore the infantry to shreds.

By this time we attempted to push the soviets out of town for good, but as is the case all across the front, our men were almost completely out of ammo. However we had 2 fresh units positioned in the milita office, one of which we attempted to move into the train station to silence some AT rifles that were harassing our armor.

But there were some sort of explosives set near the entrance, perhaps by those damned russians, that were set off, wiping out our team.

By this time nearly all our men (including our armor) were completely out of ammo and the few remaining soviets in the train station decided to counter attack the milita office effectively siezing it.

The soviets took very heavy losses here this afternoon, however have managed to almost cut our forces in half with our HQ's in the town on one side and the western bank on the other. I suggest first thing in the morning, we launch a swift counter-attack to take back the milita office and reconnect our forces.

Day 1 P.M.

Rakotino

Strategic Overview

The following forces were deployed into battle

Our defense was positioned in the town on the north bank of the river to maximize Soviet casulties as they would be forced to advance over open terrain to reach the town.

Our recon team positioned on hill 237 found themselves the main target of the soviet advance. They came under fire from infantry and several mortars.

They were ordered to fall back but the soviets charged and took the hill.

After taking the hill, they turned their attention towards the town and charged under heavy fire but didn't get very far.

The Russians advance towards, but not into the town. In the end, the battle was a stalemate.

Day 1 P.M.

Zybenko

Strategic Overview

The following forces were deployed into battle

Defense was spread throught the town to attempt to slow the soviet advance

Sir, as you know we were unable to send any reinforcements to this sector. There was little we could do as the soviet armor advanced building by building towards our suply road.

We managed to hold on to our supply route but not for long. I fear we may not remain in this sector for long and there won't be much this battegroup can do against such strong armor.

Day 1 P.M.

Malo Rossochka

Strategic Overview

The following forces were deployed into battle

Our defnse was concentrated in the town to the north and the dock area the the southeast to protect our supply lines.

The soviets began their attack by advancing to the west but ran into our flamethrowers.

They then advanced to the south and face fierce resistance by our forward unit.

We were able to hold the soviet advance on both front and inflict some casulties. Our defense will continue to hold in this sector.

Day 1 P.M.

Borodkin

Strategic Overview

The following forces were deployed into battle

Our defense was again, spread throughout the town to attempt to delay the soviet advance.

Unfortunately there was little we could do in this sector. The enemy had 4 T-34's and we had minimal AT capability. As before, all we could do was watch as the soviets moved from house to house as their armor provided cover.

The soviets moved through the town swiftly and brushed all resistance aside. However one of our PanzerBusche 41 was able to find it's mark on the side of an enemy tank knocking it out.

Our recon team was sent on a stealth mission to attemplt to capture an unprotected VL and discovered an unprotected Katyusha rocket launcher. The crew tried to get in the truck and drive away, but drove into a minefield and came under a barrage of grenades.

We managed to caputre a rear objective and knock out a Katyusha, little was done to stall the main soviet advance. In the end they pushed our unit to the edge, but we were able to retain supply.

Day 1 PM

Jelchi

Strategic Overview

Our forces were deployed in this sector in the town see as how the soviets would be forced to attack through the minefield. The 2 tanks this BG has were positioned to strike at the foothold the soviets had in the town as not only was this the expected avenue of attack, but our Rumanian allies have orders to push the Russians out of this sector.

As we expected the Soviets had heavy amounts of infantry in their foothold and as soon as they started to attack, our armor opened up. We quickly knocked out an ATG and the russians took heavy casulties. One of our tanks ran out of ammunition and I suppose the crew felt it necessary to abandon it. The russians tried launching an attack in the center to try and relieve the pressure on their foothold but they were cut down by our MG's. We tried to attack the foothold but took severe losses ourselves. I know it is our Rumanian allies that got us into this mess but I suppose they are in the same situation as us, because they fought like true German Soldiers today.

Day 1 PM

Iljovinskaia

Strateigic Overview

Force Pool

Deploy

There was extremely heavy fighting reported in this sector. The soviets attempted to attack through the town, but once again ran into fierce resistance by our determined soldiers.

The Soviet attack begins!

The Soviet attack is decimated after our halftrack opens fire

Our brave forces counter attack from the west

The soviets took extremely heavy losses but managed to gain some ground. We know full well that russian infantry is expendable

Day 1 PM

Petschanka

SIR! URGENT NEWS! I'm afraid we've lost communication with the 371st in the Petschanka region. A few soldiers managed to escape the area and we will have to act based on what little information they can provide.

Strategic Overview

The following forces were deployed into battle

Our elite Sturmpionere were ordered to defend the town and prevent the Soviets from capturing the supply road at all costs. The attack was expected to come from the west so our defenses were placed accordingly.

The soviets began their offensive by completely mauling 2 units place behind the hill.

They continue to advance but run into heavy fire from our units inside the warehouses. The soviets call in a Katyusha barrage to suppress the fire.

According to the reports, the soviets managed to capture the road and cut our unit off in this sector. Perhaps the 371st is the first to suffer the same fate we are all doomed to...

Day 1 PM

Northern Heights

Strategic Overview

The following forces were deployed into battle

Nothing much to report in this sector. Apparently the soviets are so horrified of our armor they will not attack. So far they will help hold the northern edge of the circle.

Day 1 PM

Orlovka

Strategic Overview

The following forces were deployed into battle

Although we enjoy the advantage of having armor in this sector, our defense is forced to be spread as the attack could come from any direction.

Little activity to report in this sector, our armor seems to have a huge effect on the enemy. Our AT rifles knocked out an enemy ATG and Russian scouts ran into our infantry and were quickly dispatched.

Day 1 PM

Grain Silo

Sir, grave news from this sector. The soviet battlegroup they are facing is too strong for them to hold so we had ordered them to retreat. Our 2nd line and reserves were to stall the Russians so our BG could commit to an organized retreat. However, the russians came strong here and quickly overran our defenses and cut them off.

Strategic Overview

Our 2nd line and reserves were committed to battle to stall the russians.

It was expected the soviets would continue their attack west of the grain silo into the village. MG's and ATG's were placed in the Grain Silo for maximum cover.

The Russians advance under the cover of their armor. Our ATG in the silo had a clear LOS on a KV-1 but a barrage was quickly called in.

Russian infantry advanced into the workers settlement under cover fire from their tanks and their was little our reserves could do. In the end, they were overrun and the Russians took the supply road and the settlement. There is little we can do for our BG here and they have been ordered to hold their ground for as long as possible, stalling the russians until reinforcements can be sent to plug the hole.

Day 1 PM

Krasnaia Plochad

Strategic Overview

The following units were put into battle

It was expected that the Russians were going to continue their assault to the north. The majority of our forces were allocated to defend this area with a few units placed in the center building

The Russians did indeed continue their assault north but at a very slow pace. They advanced and captured undefended buildings. They also advanced to the south but didn't go very far.

Day 1 PM

Krasny Oktiabr

Strategic Overview

The following forces were deployed into battle

We were not sure where the soviets would advance among the ruins. Our defense was forced to spread out and be as flexible as possible.

The soviets quietly advanced in the southern factory and caught one of our Heavy Infantry platoons by surprise. The Russians threw a molotov and immediatly sent our men into a panic. After 2 of their comrades were dead, the remaining 5 quickly surrendered. I fear this may become commonplace very soon...

The soviets advanced in the southern factory pushing us back even further. Casulties did not favor one side or the other, yet the number of men who surrendered is deeply disturbing.

Day 1 PM

Barrikady

Strategic Overview

The enemy advance was expected to the south and we must protect our supply lines. Most of our armor was positioned in the south to prevent a breakthrough.

The soviet attack came from the south as we had expected. after an extended firefight by the warehouse, the soviets finally overran our position. Our armor was moved up to prevent any further advance by the russians.

After we halted their attack in the south, they decided to attack to the north. They easily overran our 2 infantry units in the north.

Infantry losses were about even on both sides, however we lost too much territory. Once again, I am disturbed by how many men surrendered
