Just wanted to ask a general question regarding this really. From the early mods of CC5 onwards I was fairly sure I'd seen it said that it was impossible to incorporate multinational battlegroups accurately in forces due to obvious language differences affecting names and voices. But that said, I see in the latest version of Red Storm Rising, that soldiers in the various battlegroups are at least named correctly.
Is this an old development for CC5, or just something that came about with that mod? I see that extra name files were added in the Data directory, but does it require much more alteration, and is it easy to implement? [I thought perhaps an example of where this could be used for extra realism is in the SS Nordland in the upcoming Berlin Mod. Looking forward to that regardless though.]
And, more of a longshot, but does anyone see any chance of being able to do something similar with vox files? [I still dream of seeing a CC5 GCE Mod with International Brigades fully implemented. ]
I don't no how long its been known that you can do that Mafis CC2 Afika mod has had extra name files I believe slightly before RSR, but thats not the point. I don't know who first figured it out and what mod first had it. Drew (Part of the RSR team) made a Universal name pack in which are instructions fo to do it for CC5. Mafi has a guide on his webiste on how to do it for CC2.
Read what Drew sad and it is possible in a small way.About Berlin, i have replaced the English voicecue for the Germans with Norwegian voicies.Another way to go is to replace the voicefile when you are using different battlegroups, as in TT:s Vet Mod.
