I am looking for books of 1st hand accounts from Axis soldiers in WW2. Non-fiction and non-propaganda. Any nationality except German, preferably Japanese. They seem to be hard to find... anyone know of some good ones? Also looking for books by Russian soldiers.

Oh, there are a lot of them, but written in german.
Try to find:
Hasso G. Stachow, If this be Glory.Publ. 1982. ISBN: 0385159749
It´s the story of a young german soldier on the eastern front, as narrated by himself and written by the author. It is authentic, but not a classical first person account.
I warmly recommend to you : "Le soldat oublié" ("The forgotten soldier") from Guy SAJER, first written in french , about a young french alsacian engaged as rifleman in the Grossdeutschland Division from 42 to 45.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
