WaR
Will have both a BG selection of troops, same as in CC5, and also a locked BG where you have to play with what you are given as in CC4.
Here its CC5 style, see the BG units is brighter:

and here the FP is locked (darker), and its same idea as in CC4:

Notice the points are visible in top right side,

thanx Schreck for let this info out.

This is an improvement over CC4, in CC4 we cant select troops, that bad say most, and good say some.

Here both have there favourite system, and the CC4 lovers, who want to play with what they get, will have additional info as they now can see the number of units available in FP, in old cc4, one had no good info how depleted a BG was.

Also see at bottom of screen points value for each team.

The addition of the points system will allow for interesting H2H single battles..... 500 pts each, 600pts each, your choice, then off to battle.

That has always been the case since CC4, only it wasn't shown in the GUI, but stored in BGroups.adb.

The points showing can be used for GC or Ops also. Basically on the honour system though. It would be nice if you cuold set a hard limit on points so in a scenario you can only bring in 400 poins max.

Polemarchos.... I actually like the plastic army men look! Commander skills affected CC5 also.

Heres the breakdown of attributes and how they work for CC5 (gjs)..

well that is a taste question anyways... but still maybe a pic mini mod can be made by the creators and added to the game as optional addition.

Yes... Squadleader's unit pics are very good and raise the bar for all new mods or commercial releases.

The positive of thing about the icons is that you do not have to pay for the pictures. I know there are some free ones out there but finding them and making sure they are free is not easy....

Did anybody fix the cheesy voice over on the original video?

Does game play force both a defensive and offensive style of play for both sides?

The plastic Armey men? no problem since it is a game and all games should have a game appeal to them.

Thanks for the compliments, Mooxe! I love the plastic soldiers look! Custom unit icon artwork takes forever to put together though Sad
But it's true...the original CC4-CC5 unit icon graphics could use an upgrade...color plastic men is great for CC (IMO a lot better than tiny B&W WW2 photos)...but the original icons weren't that great and the art looks dated.
The modern army icons for CCMT looks great...a WW2 version of those should look better than these original artwork from 10 years ago.

BTW, fixed BG only works for set-piece single battles...for Ops and Campaigns...you need the option to be able to choose your units.[/b]

Why does the commander skills/attributes have to replace the BG commander photo?
I know the commander photo is just eye candy...but it's part of the cool thing about the BG interface screen.
If you want to display commander skills...a smaller box below the photo would look much better.

Personally, I don't like photos as icons. Wargame-counter-style icons from CCMT were my favourite.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
