Hi Guys,

The forums have been hacked, no idea how, I am going to check the accounts and do a DB restore!

I have posted the following on the CSO main page:

Despite running the very latest version of VBulletin, our forums have been hacked. I am taking the forums down until the problem is fixed and any issues resolved. In the past the finger has been pointed at CSO for not running the latest updates etc. This has now happened despite running the very latest updates on the software running on the site. Whoever is so set on hacking CSO, please get a life, this is getting old very fast! Another item the person/persons did was delete the forum user database. We are working on it and will get things back up and running as soon as possible, once the forums are secured. This pints out the nature of online life and the people out there lurking and waiting to do damage, this is not limited to websites, but your own pc's so please ensure you have Firewalls and other AV etc running. Sorry for the disruption [AGAIN] - Sulla

From the bunch of e-mails from sulla [at] closecombat [dot] org sent out to CSO forum members...looks like these hackers have a huge issue with Sulla, CSO and Simtek...ouch!

well it is not that easy to hack a site. consider the possibility that there is an "ephialtes" in your ranks...(by considering the content of the email that blames that a "group" has been mistreated)

Do not visit this site anymore.

The site is infected with viruses and root kits galore.

The administrator cannot secure his site one bit.

Our group gives you one piece of advice since its getting borring to hack this site, REMOVE POST NUKE NOW. Were not the only ones who know about this totally shitty site thats more hackable than a wet paper bag.

We have full access to the entire site and all personal data you have entered. CPanel, SSH, FTP, we have hidden accounts everywhere.

The only thing stopping me from typing RM -RF * from / is my enjoyment at Sullas insults towards me and my group.

Sulla whoever you are, you are an idiot. Start paying someone to secure your crap ass website.

Please... hacking and boasting of it was only cool in the days of Matthew Broderick staring in how he hacked access to start a nuclear war. Now that was cool. Hacking a forum email is so.... punny.
