I have yesterday, after a long time of not playing close combat 4, installed the game, but if I want to start the game I get the error
"unable to get format on stream", does anyone knows how to fix this problem. Confused Confused
I have windows xp installed, but close combat 5 is running without any problem on xp. Razz Razz

You have two choices, either disable your videos in the game options, or download a Codec pack that includes the older codecs. In their infinite wisdom, Micro$oft didn't include them with XP.

I cann't disable videos in the game options, because I don't get that far.
Do you know where i can download these codec pack and what for old codecs do i need?

I just downloaded and installed xp codec pack 2.3.5 but i still get the error " unable to get format on stream", i don't know if i have to adjust something in the codec pack, i hope you can help me, anyway thanks for your help sofar.

Do you tryed by using the patch for CC4?
Anyways, try to launch CC4 while keep preesing down CTRL button
It will normally go to directly to the option screen, there disable your video option


Tout est possible ... il faut juste connaitre quand.

I did the codec detective and I had to download indeo video 5.1, after installing indeo video 5.1 again close combat 4 started the normal and i now can play this awesome game ones again.

I play cc4 for long time, in past, and now i want play this wonderfull game again.
But my cc4 dont run on my XP windows PC !!

Nobody can help me ?!
There are italians members on this community ? Or friend that speak italian ?
I am italian, but my english is very bad, sorry !

Already answered above.
Launch the game while holding down the CTRL key...then in the options menu...click disable video.

But what i must to do for play multiplayer on line ?
I need gamespy? Amaci ? X-fire? A S E ?

I also installed this beaouty recently and i hae a problem. I hae Widescreen monitor and i want to play in window mode. How do i do this?
