Hi!

About an year ago me and AT_AJ was playing stock CC5.01 to rest of GJS4.3 tank battles and play these cool stock maps with dense hedgerows:). But after several battles we both realised clearly that after great GJS mod there is no such pleasure to play stock CC5 due to alot of minor bugs/glitches and overal perfomance. To make it better we even imported some GJS tank graphics, drexel uniform mod and new sounds. For next several battles it was ok but then we gain dissaponited with CC5 cuz of weapon/vehicle perfomance. So i edited weapon data.It helped for another several battles:D.After that we began to discuss what could be done with stock CC5 to increase it's overall perfomance...in other way to play same area of operation but with some kind GJS standarts...
After that i made some researches about Utah sector of Invasion Normandy and undertood that stock GC has alot of mistakes,FPs(especially germans) were mostly just wrong. There were alot of vehicles that were not available that area that time as M4(105),M4A3(105),M4A1(76),M4A3(76),M4R3,PzII,PzIIIJ and it lacked many vehicles that were available that area that time as DDM4A1,M4 Dozer,B2(flamm),FT-18c,S35,StuGIV:).Analizing all this i understood that it'll be needed to remake most FPs,weapons and etc to get good result. But as far as i get some theoretical knowledges about WW2 weapons, tactics,OOBs and overal situation in Europe by 06.06.44 i decided to make brand new modification to represent my view and ideas of that battle and what i want CC to be like Twisted Evil ...
Utah mod will feuture all new FPs(US and germans),all new teams, all new weapon data, new sounds, new uniforms, new GC,several new BGs(for both sides),all old maps(at least for ver1).As far as iam not any good with photoshop or any graphic program, for now vehicles/guns graphics is imported mostly from VetBoB mod, some from GJS mod and Meuse mod.Unit photos are mostly imported from SAS.
Now there is fully playable beta(or alpha:)) that is beeing tested by my friends and me.

Sounds like something I've been wishing for, especially for a "Push South", post-Cherburg operation with the southern maps . Good luck with finishing it out.

Cool! Of course you dont have to make any more maps, its the same place. Screenshots look cool Very Happy . So this is pretty much a realism mod for cc5?

I would be very interested in picking up this mod. New maps would have made the mod a lot harder, but I would have loved to see more maps along the Mederet such as a La Fiere causeway map. Also, to have Mont Castre be split into at least two maps. Seves Island, etc.

the map of merderet is very close too the reality, some errors occurs in the name... the stream on the map is the merderet river, the village on the east edge is not canquigny, but la Fiere (a part of la Fiere, cause la Fiere village is northern), the Motey Crossroad is not Le Motey but Canquigny...
(le Motey is the village in the South of Amfreville map !)
the map look close to aerial photographie, but some details as roads direction and the manor NorthWest are wrong...

the map of original CC5 represent the theater of the 1057th/91 grenadier rgt counterattack June 6th and 7th against 505th/82nd Airborne CoA

map of SAS35 version is lovely but unreal...

good idea to work on a new version of the Utah sector Wink
