How did you do this?

Note that I have Win XP
This PC has an nVidia card. When you attempt to host a game the menu bar shows up along the bottom of the screen showing which applications you have open. A new WaR button shows up titled "Serial Settings". DO NOT LEFT CLICK on it or it will just freeze. If you right click on the button it gives me a scroll down menu with options of "move", "close" and "nview options". Selecting "nview options" opens up another scroll down menu with an option of "Always on top". When I select "always on top" the "serial settings" window opens up on top.

But I cannot get my other PC to do this. It has a different video card.

Do you have Hamachi enabled?

I just had 2 ppl fix their connection by disabling Hamachi

and do the port forward in the router.

That's how I got mine to work. I just went into view networks and right clicked on the Himachi icon and selected disable. Everything worked fine after that.

Note that I had already setup the necessary ports.

I've played about 7 battles H2H so far vs Pzt_Serk.

i have strange expriences with this game playing h2h.

i can play ccv and coi without problems, but yesterday i tried to host and join with and without hamachi, all ports open, withour firewall with a friend and we cant.

reason? he was under windowsxp sp3 and me was under w vista sp1.

i think there are problems with conection for any reason.

i then restarted the other OS in the same computer, same internet conection, etc... with windows XP, and all worked fine.

?¿?¿?¿
windows xp sp3---no connection--windows vista
windows xp sp3---ok connection--windows xp sp1

As i said, the computer, router, open ports, was the same. the only thing changed was the OS. Maybe the problem is Vista.

ok, this night was a nightmare.

This game is frustrating me a lot.

Its very hard to play h2h over internet.

I have a router. I have ALL ports open, and also, the ports needed too. I have tried with windows vista and with xp, and its just impossible to host or to connect with anyone. It dosent matter if you have a modem, or you have a router, if you have open or closed ports, firewall or not. The game randomly connects. I have hosted succefully 2 times, and joined some times too. But sometimes, it is just impossible.

can someone write here a guide?

we tried by hamachi too, and looks bad. cant connect too.

thanks

I have problems too. I have played four times without problem, but in another three times it has been imposible.

I have tested with different SO's (XP SP3, VISTA), different connection type (cable, DSL, router, modem) and it doesn't work, it's random!!! The worst thing is to try one hour to connect to someone (TCP, UDP, Hamachi...) without success, then sudenly, without change nothing, it works... crazy!

I would like it works as CC5 where it you open ports, test to host and to join host and it works... it works always! Here i dont find the reasson and i'm lossing the best... H2H!

I hope someone solve it!

Have you tried a UDP connection? many times we use TCP but a UDP can be better.

ok, we FOUND THE PROBLEM!!

i was the HAMACHI installed on computer.

You cant play if you have it installed. It dosent matter if its not open, it modificate the network and block access to external ip.

UNINSTALL hamachi, open ports, tell the firewall what programs are allowed to go out, and you are done.

thanks.

You don't have to uninstall Hamachi, you can just disable it. Go to your networks section and right click on the Hamachi icon and then disable it.

I've tried connecting with 2 friends but with no success.
None game appears in the dialog box after pushing search for games. I've tried to join/host game both TCP and UDP. Hamachi is not installed. I'm afraid that my provider doesn't allowed a direct connection with other PCs. Is there a way to check this?
I'm deeply disappointed as I've bought CC WAR only for MP as AI is no match after few battles. My suggestion is that next time a better effort should be put upgrading the game to gaming servers that permit to bypass direct connection only mode.
