I've noticed that BG Commander photos are coded in the data files...and both WAR and CC4Classic data show that the BGs are assigned different Commander pics...but they don't show up in the game.

In the gadget files there's a new set of files: BGLEADERPIC001_000.tga and BGLEADERPIC001_001.tga containing blank pics. I guess these are the ones used by the exe?

How can we use the BGLEADERPIC_000.tga - BGLEADERPIC_063.tga files to display BG Commander photos?

Commander photos are just cosmetic, but they're cool! Smile

If the Commander pics feature were disabled in the release...could we have a patch to enable them again please...

*bump*

What's the official word on BG commander photos?
This is a nice cosmetic feature...it's a shame to disable this in WAR.

Unlike Atomic, S3T did not want to use pictures that were not of the actual person (they did this in some instances on both CC4 and CC5), or leave blank commaders where non-copyrighted photos were not available, plus, ...oops, NDA

Okay...I understand that.
But why must the exe point to a pair of new "blank" BGLEADERPIC001 files and disabling the original BGLEADERPICs file sets? If you guys don't want to show Commander Photos (for copyright or other reasons)...then just make those original BGLEADERPICs files blank (Commander Pics and those experimental Commander Attributes Boxes are still on those files in the WAR gadgets)...no need to point the exe to a new set of blank files.

Edit: After re-studying CC5 gadgets, BGLEADERPIC001_000.tga and BGLEADERPIC001_001.tga are old files...sorry.
And loading the WAR exe in RtBTool...the Commander Photos slot still points to the old gadgets too Confused

I suppose modders can try to patch the exe to re-enable them? Or not?

Thought I explained that. It looks pretty half-ass to have some pictures and some blank ones.

Don't know what you mean 'old' . There are no 'new' BGLEADERPIC gadgets.

Yeah...sorry...they're old...I already corrected my mistake on my "edit" actually.
What I meant was if you want all blanks...then make the gadgets blanks...that way mod can have photos.

The CC4Classic gadgets still has those commander photos...but they don't show up in the game.

I would dig bringing in some photos for some character. Even if some are blank, there could just be a stock image, like a Balkenkreuz (beam cross) or something, just so that something is there

*another bump*

So...will the BG Commander Pics be enabled in the patch?
Replace the BGLEADERPICs in the WAR gadgets with blanks (currently filled with unused commander attributes)...and reenable them (in the exe?)...that way the S3T release will show blank photos...while modders can add commander photos to their mods.

Is there a way to manually patch the exe using RtBTool?
I tried...but in RtBTool it shows that the commander photo box correctly point to the BGLEADERPIC gadgets...but they don't show up in the game Confused

I'll see if I can swing this... it was supposed to be in the release but got cut right at the end.

That's why you see the attribs in the manual shots.
