Hello,

I know here are many ww2 buffs, so i ask this question:

Some people say, the Germans didnt got any Stg44 in normandy at all.
I searched for pictures, and articels, but didnt found anything.

Can somebody help me? Confused

I was pretty sure the germans would have had Stg44 in normandy.

of coz there was not any StG.44 as the name was MP.43 in times of Normandy campaign Smile.

Divisions that came to stage in July after beeing refited in France (like 1st,2nd SS-PzD) had MP.43 for sure as there r numerous of photos showing them.

As for June (the month all the CC5 Normandy mods cover), according to the documents, MP.43 could have been in small numbers only with 12.SS-PzD (GJS sector) and 6.FJR (Utah sector).

"Hiterjugend, Das Reich, Gotz von Berlichigan and Liebstandarte all had sturmgruppe equipped with MP44 between June - Aug 44..And also Heer sturmgruppe 2. panzer etc had some MP44's at this time.. there were some entire zugs(squads) equipped with them but only assualt units(sturmzug. Other zug might have one in one squad... "

that's funny as
17.SS-PzGD meldung shows no MP.43 Smile.
12.SS-PzD shows only self-loading rifles and experimental rifles (could be Mp.43).
1.SS-PzD had Mp.43 but didn't take action in June 1944.

even more funny Smile.
MP.43 was renamed to MP.44 after Normandy campaign.

in June in Normandy ?!

such types of sources should be burned...
