I have previously played CCV and loved it, but never got a chance at multiplayer.
I'm waiting for my Combat Commander: Europe to arrive and am looking for some fun, tactical action.
However, I'm wondering whether I should get WaR, TLD or neither. Which one has a greater player base? What about Vista support? Are they both fully playable on it?

I've also heard rumours of a new version coming out. What are the chances of it being built on a fresh engine and does anyone know of a release date for it?

I hope that provides enough information of what I'm looking for.

Edit: Also, is it possible to play over a LAN with only one cd-key?

I think TLD has sold more than WAR but that is just my guess.

Both WAR and TLD are playable on Vista. I use Vista 64 myself and have both games.

Another re-release has been discussed but not much has been said about it. No ETA. As for the new CC engine that supposedly is on the to do list after the next re-release though again not much has been said about it nor is there any ETA.
