That Technical support guide is very out of date and misleading in many instances.
It erroneously states "Close Combat was not intended for the next generation 3D accelerator cards." etc etc throughout it's length.
All version of close Combat released since 2006 overcome most if not all of these problems.
The guide also doe not deal with issues such as anastrophic filtering etc etc.
