This SAGA is still ongoing
Matrix games customer service is far from satisfactory.
I recieved an Email from them after 2 weeks to say Post back the package and i will recieve a refund?
My reply was that I do not want a refund I want the 3 of 3 disc. I explained that to ship the package back to England would cost money. (obvious). So I took a picture of the dics and sent it with the Email
A reply came back a week later (I know they are busy) saying they will look into it
Over a week went by so I sent them an Email still explaining that I don't want a refund just the 3 of 3 disc
Only 2 days went by and I got an Email
We have recieved your request for a refund on order No. 16........
please return the product to the followin address

Sorry if this seems to drag on, thats because I guess it is.
Matrix games customer support were straight on to it. but of course had to wait for digital rivers reply
Digital river replied saying that there must have been some misunderstanding as they have credited my account and I need return nothing. You may reorder TLD blah blah , first i heard of it
So I check my account, they have refunded me $71.39
Here is my original invoice
Product Name Qty Ordered Platform Price
Extended Download Service $3.95 1 License Certificate A$5.41
Close Combat The Longest Day 1 Physical Shipment Plus A$71.99
Product Name Qty Ordered Platform Price
Close Combat The Longest Day - Physical + Digital 1 PC A$.00
Sub Total: A$77.40
Shipping: A$16.01
Total: A$93.41
So as you can see I am still out of pocket and still without the 3 of 3 disc
Soooooo....... what do I do keep whingeing, or take my losses and shut the F*** up
Tell me shrekky when I upgrade to a new comuter can I transfer my Digital Download to that computer as I have the password? I know I will be playing this for years and I want backup in case it shits the tin.
You can PM me if the answer is too political
I love the game but they can get stuffed if they want me to pay through the nose for it.
I just wanted the 3 of 3 disc all along, how hard was that!

Few outfits will ever refund the shipping costs, although there are some. You will probably have to write that part off. You got the game at a bargain price of AU$22.02 when compared to others at much more, so there is a small victory point for you, if you want to view it that way.
As Schrecken says, you can burn your digital download to disc and making a couple of copies is always a good idea. Use them to make test installs to vet the burn process, which you can of course immediately delete to recover hard drive space.
Next time, though, you should take any issues directly to the game developer/publisher forums. It is great you were able to get help here and did obtain partial satisfaction, but there is nothing more effective than going in-their-face on their home court. I'd suggest doing so now. The publisher may take customer service seriously enough to pressure the distributor to break out that missing disc for you after all, once it is in the public eye of the forums. Can't say it will work, can't say it won't, but nothing will happen unless you ask, especially if you ask a bit indignantly.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
