hello forum, have just invested in a new pc with "vista home premum".tryed loading "c/c invasion normandy"but when i try to install it, [clicking full install]at 5% it says,"crc error:the file c.program files[x86]\ssi\cc invasion normandy map auvll.ovm dosent match the file in the setups.cab file.the medium from which you are running the set up may be corrupted.contact your softwarw vendor".but with this message there comes 3 options "abort retry ignore.so i click ignore ,,and it loads a bit more then the same message,,so i just keep clicking ignore, until it is loaded,,the game plays fine,,but when i try to install the mod,"red storm rising"i go to config manager,,i run as administrator, click the little blue logo, highlight the plug in,,press install, and i get this,,"cfg13 fail to copy c:program file\ssi\close combat invasion normandy\cc5.exe to system\ original\cc5.exe.because c:\program file\ssi\cc invasion normandy\cc5.exe does not exist.now do you think that the problem lies in "program files,as in all the pcs ive had,ive never had 2 sets of program files,,ive got normal program files,,also "program files x86"the red strom rising mod is in program x86,but i dont know how to load it to normal program files, happy new year to all, thankyou for any help, Sad  Sad

Really should install original CC5 and CC4 in the 'Program Files' directory instead of the "Program Files (x86)' directory.  Then install the 501 patch (for CC5) to the same directory (Program FIles).  The patch install program will want to install it in Program Files (x86), but don't do that because it goes looking for the SSI\Close Combat Invasion Normandy directory where the files are that must be patched.  If it doesn't find the SSI directory, it makes one and the patch files do not get loaded in the correct place.

If you eventually play any of the mods that reuire the plugin process, also install the plugin manager in the same directory (Program Files).

Hope this helps

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
