Hi,
Count me as another fanatic CC4 - VetBob addict! I agree with all of you that CC4 VetBob is the best game of all CC series.
My question is I'm already in the middle of Grand Campaign and I'm wondering if I can install your new and enlarged maps and continue on with the GC. will that crash the campaign or is it ok for enlarged but not for new ones????
Thanks so much for keeping CC4 game alive!
Where's this guy TT anyway? Love to see more of his magic.

Hello!
Good to see that there are others who enjoy CCIV
I have special interest because my father fought
in the Northern Sector of the Bulge with the
1st Inf. Div. : Butgenbach, Bullingen, Crossed the Remagen
in to Germany, etc.
(OK, there's an idea for a New Mod/Maps..
Battle of The Remagen Bridge!)
Answer to your question: You shouldn't have a problem
installing Enlarged maps in this case..but I'm not
100 %. As far as the new maps go, you may have
more of a problem there....Give it a try, what have
you got to lose? If you have a problem ether way,
you can just reinstall the stock maps and continue on.
I haven't heard any complaints yet, so..good luck!
Thanks for the kind words but I must be honest,
I'm Not an "Expert" Map maker. I made the "Enlarged"
maps for my OWN use and then thought I'd try
making some from "Scratch" because I liked the game
but was getting "Bored" with the stock maps....
I had NO thoughts of "keeping the game alive" as you
say....The maps were strictly for my own use.
BTW...It WAS TT who suggested that I make the maps
availible to the CC community.....I told him that it would
be a waste of time to U/L them because everyone seemed
to be playing CCIII & V. He said that if he ever got back
into CCIV, he would give my maps a try so I started
uploading.
He's the Guy you really should thank for "Keeping CCIV alive"
HE'S THE MAN! ...Amazing work!
As far as I know, he's retired from the Close Combat World.
But he may return, ...one never knows....
IF he does, maybe we could get together and do a CCIV
Mod... ME, TT, maybe Ptv. Grunt and Plt. Micheal may want
to join too....CCIV Dream Team!
Again, thank you for the kind words and watch out
for those Tigers!

Yes, I should I have mentioned that! ...
I basically did not change the VL's on these maps,
but with TT's later Mods, (Starting with 1.11 I think),
some of the Stock Maps were renamed and VL's
were changed so there could be possible problems
when playing the Grand Campain or larger battles
with VETMODs.
Ernie,
You are right, without TT's VetBob mod, CC4 would have been collecting dust for sure.. but he singlehandedly made CC4 the most fun & challenging (against AI) of the series. It made me also realize CC4 strategy maps are also the best of the series - you can do so much more than simple advance...in VetBob mod, cutting the supply is the only way to defeat numerically superior enemy.
I'll take your suggestion and download your maps now... just one more question, if I may. I read in one of TT's posts (at CSO) that one of the secrets of CC4 AI's aggressiveness is due to small maps... do your enlarged maps have any effect to AI's aggressiveness? Thanks again!
yes cos ia get good micro strategy, PC are strong when he need to defend a small area or to attack it cos script attack or defend is light, but when the area is large, he still lost to how defend or attack it cos script need to be more complicated.
Tout est possible ... il faut juste connaitre quand.

"I read in one of TT's posts (at CSO) that one of the secrets of

My "Inlaraged" maps are only "slightly" bigger than stock so they
shouldn't undo TT's efforts. The NEW maps are generally the
same size as the Maps they replace. I haven't noticed any difference
in game play.
I know many people have D/L'd these maps, however, I haven't
received much "Feedback"
If U try them, let me know how U make out .........Enjoy!

Well, let me start by saying we all should hang our heads in shame, we download the maps, play them then say nothing!
My fav's..
Bullingen - great use of trees and scattered buildings to block the los. Not much elevation changes, so without this it would be a Gernman walkover.
Staveltot2 - I love the explosions!! Maybe some people dont, but I like it. Downside, once the suprise is over, the replayability suffers, oh well.
Losheim - a great map enlarged, nice extras, the field and the farmhose in the valley.
My less favs.
Berdorf - The textures change too suddenly in the NW and SW corners. Some of the roads look "unfinished" Otherwise, great to play, the scattered buildings give great cover.
Thanks for all the work Ernie, it helps make CC4 worth playing again.

Now that's what I LIKE pvt, some constructive critisisum!
If more people would give some input to this subject,
I would be encouraged to make more maps and do BETTER
next time!
(Please forgive if I misspell in this post, I just
got up and I'm still groggy!).
:zzz
Staveltot2 - Yes I agree! As I recall, there was a Fuel Dump
near by that Pieper and the Boys were trying to get to.
So I added a little challange. It's a Bitch to take that area
with out Blowing everyting to "Kingdom Come"!
Losheim - - Thanks, but I think this Map STINKS!
Berdorf- I'll have to take a close look at that one
Ok, I did. Roads unfinshed? Hey, this is "War Torn Europe"
NOT America!
All joking aside, I get so involved in the artistic look of
a map, I simply forget other things. It's diffcult to cover
ALL the Bases sometimes!

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
